{"id":386389,"date":"2025-08-31T03:38:20","date_gmt":"2025-08-31T03:38:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/386389\/"},"modified":"2025-08-31T03:38:20","modified_gmt":"2025-08-31T03:38:20","slug":"north-london-to-get-five-new-asda-convenience-stores-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/386389\/","title":{"rendered":"North London to get five new Asda convenience stores"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The supermarket chain is opening 20 convenience stores across the country before the end of the year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The first Asda Express will launch in Castleford in early October, with the north London branches following later in the month.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  These will be located in Green Lanes, Finsbury Park Station, High Road, Tottenham Hale West, and Headstone Drive.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The stores will offer around 3,000 products.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Asda Express stores are part of a rapid expansion plan by Asda, which acquired 469 convenience store and fuel sites from the Co-op and EG Group.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  David Lepley, chief supply chain officer, said: &#8220;We\u2019re thrilled to kick off the next phase of our Express rollout and bring our heritage in delivering outstanding value to more locations across the UK.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cIn just three years, we\u2019ve grown from zero convenience stores to establishing a major presence in the channel, with almost 500 stores by the end of the year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThis continued investment reflects the confidence we have in our convenience strategy and our focus on bringing Asda\u2019s low prices to more local communities.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The convenience store expansion comes as Asda recently announced plans to refurbish 180 of its in-store cafes as part of a \u00a3180million investment.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The upgrades will see the introduction of digital ordering screens and a table ordering service, which will be available alongside manned tills.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The supermarket chain is opening 20 convenience stores across the country before the end of the year.
