The reference device was a Hypnodyne ZMax, which records brain waves via EEG and is said to record sleep phases with 72% accuracy, according to studies. For comparison, the polysomnography (PSG) used in sleep labs has an accuracy of around 83%. In comparison to the ZMax, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 showed an accuracy of about 73% for REM and deep sleep and a pretty impressive 86.5% for light sleep.<\/p>\n
Compared to the competition, this result is excellent and even slightly surpasses the Oura Gen 4 Smart Ring. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, Whoop 4.0 and Garmin Fenix 7 are notably less accurate in this respect. However, it should be noted that this test and comparison only involved one unit of each wearable and a single person. Due to the small sample size, the results are only moderately conclusive of the overall performance and precision of said devices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"In addition to the heart rate sensor, Rob ter Horst also tested the sleep tracking of the Apple…\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":386501,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3160],"tags":[134017,17467,1685,86527,134019,24876,86526,24877,86528,134020,14998,6080,6082,134018,3317,53,32504,32438,16,15,71755],"class_list":{"0":"post-386500","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-gadgets","8":"tag-apple-watch-ultra-2","9":"tag-benchmarks","10":"tag-gadgets","11":"tag-graphics-card","12":"tag-herzfrequenz","13":"tag-laptop","14":"tag-netbook","15":"tag-notebook","16":"tag-processor","17":"tag-puls","18":"tag-reports","19":"tag-review","20":"tag-reviews","21":"tag-sensoren","22":"tag-smartwatch","23":"tag-technology","24":"tag-test","25":"tag-tests","26":"tag-uk","27":"tag-united-kingdom","28":"tag-watchos-26"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@uk\/115121526164565250","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/386500","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=386500"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/386500\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/386501"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=386500"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=386500"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=386500"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
