A TRNSMT act sparked massive backlash after displaying anti-Israel messages during their set at Coachella music festival.<\/p>\n

Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap ignited controversy at the second weekend of the American extravaganza<\/a> after leading a chant about former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.<\/p>\n

Some music fans were left unimpressed by the bold displayCredit: Instagram<\/p>\n

They are set to take to the King Tut’s stage at Glasgow Green’s TRNSMT<\/a> festival on Friday, July 11 this year. <\/p>\n

During their set, the group – Mo Chara, M\u00f3gla\u00ed Bap and DJ Pr\u00f3va\u00ed – also projected the words “F*** Israel, Free Palestine” on the stage.<\/p>\n

The band have been vocal supporters of Palestinian rights in the media.<\/p>\n

The slogans also read: “Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people.<\/p>\n

“It is being enabled by the US<\/a> government who arm and fund Israel despite their war crimes.”<\/p>\n

During the performance, Mo Chara told the crowd: “The Irish not so long ago were persecuted at the hands of the Brits, but we were never bombed from the f*****g skies with nowhere to go.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Palestinians have nowhere to go, it\u2019s their fucking home and they\u2019re bombing them from the skies. If you\u2019re not calling it a genocide what the f*** are you calling it?”<\/p>\n

But some people were left unimpressed by the bold Coachella display.<\/p>\n

One wrote on Instagram<\/a>: “Why are you providing a platform to incite hatred and spread false information that encourages hatred against an entire population? Is this a music festival or a racism festival?”<\/p>\n

Another fumed: “How did the production of this place allow political opinions to be brought onto the stage in such a blatant and false way?! Without a doubt, the world has gone crazy, and humanity has disappeared.”<\/p>\n

Music fans descend on Glasgow Green for day two of TRNSMT<\/p>\n

A third added: “When you get no attention unless you talk about Israel.”<\/p>\n

A fourth weighed in: “Doing that at a music festival is incredibly insensitive.”<\/p>\n

A fifth added: “Crying for attention with catchphrases. Fighting to be popular with politics in a peaceful music festival is so bad.”<\/p>\n

Kneecap took to X to complain that their anti-Israel projections were “cut” during the first weekend of Coachella.<\/p>\n

They wrote: “Our messaging on the US-backed genocide in Gaza somehow never appeared on screens either.<\/p>\n
