(We All Shine On)\u2019 has been released.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"post-content-read-more\">\n<li><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/features\/the-beatles-every-song-ranked-3121214\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Beatles: every song ranked in order of greatness<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The newly remixed version features in a new box set called \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/john-lennon-and-yoko-onos-political-activism-and-nyc-era-explored-on-new-power-to-the-people-box-set-3884894\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Power To The People<\/a>\u2019, due for release on October 10, which explores the pair\u2019s NYC era and political activism through unreleased demos, home recordings, jam sessions, live cuts, unique mixes and more.<\/p>\n<p>The restored recording of \u2018Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)\u2019 is taken from the afternoon performance of the pair\u2019s \u2018One To One\u2019 concerts held at New York City\u2019s Madison Square Garden. These were John Lennon\u2019s only full-length shows after leaving <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/the-beatles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Beatles, and<\/a> also the last gigs John and Yoko ever performed together before his death.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018One To One\u2019 concert was held 53 years ago today (August 30), and the release of this new footage is to mark the anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>The newly released recording was premiered on YouTube at 2pm NYC time (7pm UK \/ 11am LA \/ 3am Tokyo), which was the exact time of the performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat Madison Square Garden gig was the best music I enjoyed playing since The Cavern or even Hamburg,\u201d John Lennon told\u00a0NME\u00a0of the MSG shows in 1972. \u201cIt was just the same kind of feeling when The Beatles used to really get into it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watch it below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>In a Preface to the box set, Yoko Ono Lennon writes: \u201cThe \u2018One To One\u2019 concert was our effort in Grassroots Politics. It embodied what John and I strongly believed in \u2013 Rock for Peace and Enlightenment. And this one in Madison Square Garden turned out to be the last concert John and I did together. Imagine Peace. Peace is Power. Power To The People!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming \u2018Power To The People\u2019 box set is produced by John and Yoko\u2019s son, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/sean-ono-lennon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sean Ono Lennon<\/a>, along with his five-time\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/tag\/grammys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grammy<\/a>-winning team.
