{"id":387244,"date":"2025-08-31T14:06:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-31T14:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/387244\/"},"modified":"2025-08-31T14:06:16","modified_gmt":"2025-08-31T14:06:16","slug":"eighth-signing-travelling-to-london-for-medical-as-forward-exit-ruled-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/387244\/","title":{"rendered":"Eighth signing &#8216;travelling to London&#8217; for &#8216;medical&#8217; as forward exit ruled out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie is on his way to London to complete his medical at Arsenal on Sunday, according to The Athletic\u2019s David Ornstein.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/every-premier-league-transfer-release-completed-summer-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Gunners have already made seven signings over the summer transfer window<\/strong><\/a> as the Arsenal board look to give Mikel Arteta the tools to end three seasons as runners-up and finally win the Premier League.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/arsenal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Arsenal<\/strong><\/a> have signed Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze this summer but they are not quite done.<\/p>\n<p>With Jakub Kiwior on his way to Porto in a deal worth a reported\u00a0\u20ac27m, Arsenal are looking to fill the gap by bringing in Hincapie from Leverkusen to strengthen their defence.<\/p>\n<p>The Ecuador international can play at left-back or centre-back <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6586034\/2025\/08\/31\/piero-hincapie-london-arsenal-transfer-update\/\" target=\"_blank\">with The Athletic\u2018s Ornstein revealing that<\/a> he is \u2018travelling to London but is still awaiting permission to undergo a medical\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/arsenal-agree-45m-fee-defender-signing-arteta-hincapie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ornstein revealed earlier in the week<\/strong><\/a> that Arsenal had agreed \u2018a total package of \u20ac52million \u2014 plus a 10 per cent sell-on clause. Personal terms are in place for the 23-year-old to sign a five-year contract with Arsenal next summer.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The journalist adds that Hincapie \u2018has informed the Bundesliga club of his wish to leave the club, with his preference to join Arsenal. The fact that we have options with different qualities, that\u2019s going to fulfil what we want, because every opponent is going to require different things.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen the state, the moment, the way that those players are impacting the game \u2013 that competition is needed. We have it in many other areas on the pitch and it\u2019s needed, especially in the front line, to start the game and to finish the game.
