The Berlin resident had always carried extra weight, but when he couldn\u2019t fasten his seatbelt and had to ask for an extender, \u201csomething inside me broke,\u201d the 27-year-old said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"media-ui-Paragraph_text-SqIsdNjh0t0-\" data-component=\"paragraph\">Pohl, who weighed about 150 kilograms (330 pounds) at the time, had been eating mostly cheap junk food and ready-made meals while earning \u20ac1,000 a month as a trainee.
