Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Vitor Pereira believes Jorgen Strand Larsen will not be moving clubs this summer despite strong interest from Newcastle United<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Eddie Howe\u2019s<\/a> side have already seen two bids for the 25-year-old striker rejected, with their latest offer worth \u00a355m.<\/p>\n

The Magpies are still understood to be keen on Strand Larsen even after breaking their transfer record to sign forward Nick Woltemade for \u00a369m.<\/a><\/p>\n

With his future still uncertain, Strand Larsen was in the stands for Wolves\u2019 Premier League clash with Everton on Saturday<\/a>, which ended in a 3-2 defeat.<\/p>\n

Although the Norwegian forward was left out of Pereira\u2019s squad, the Wolves manager struck an optimistic tone when asked whether he expected Strand Larsen to remain at Molineux beyond the transfer deadline.<\/p>\n

He told Sky Sports: “I hope so. He is an important player. Today, if he plays, his quality could give us something else. We are not in a situation to sell our best players.<\/p>\n

“The information I have is that he will stay with us.”<\/p>\n

With the summer transfer window closing on Monday at 7pm, any side that loses a key player now would be left with little time to find a suitable replacement.<\/p>\n

That is particularly true for Wolves, who have already lost Matheus Cunha and Rayan A\u00eft-Nouri this summer, two of their most influential performers last season.<\/p>\n

For Newcastle, attacking firepower remains a concern with Alexander Isak\u2019s absence continuing to affect their goal tally<\/a>. Howe\u2019s side have failed to score in two of their opening three Premier League matches.<\/p>\n

If Strand Larsen were to complete a late move to Tyneside, despite Wolves\u2019 insistence he will stay put, the striker could face his current club almost immediately, with Newcastle set to host Wolves at St James\u2019 Park<\/a> next weekend.<\/p>\n
