(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox10tv.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WALA<\/a>) &#8211; Austal USA posted on its Facebook page that Friday, August 22, it launched its first Landing Craft Utility vessel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Here is part of the post:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Last Friday, Austal USA successfully launched LCU 1710 into the Mobile River. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">This is the first of 12 Landing Craft Utility vessels being built by Austal USA for the United States Navy. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Designed to support a wide range of military operations, LCU 1710 delivers vehicles, personnel, and cargo from sea-to-shore and back. Each craft boasts an impressive heavy-lift capacity, equivalent to several C-17 aircraft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It is an important connector that plays a crucial role in supporting expeditionary operations for the Navy and Marine Corps. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">We\u2019re thrilled to see this vessel begin its journey and honored to continue supporting the Navy\u2019s critical operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WALA.
