Reddit<\/a>\u2019s AITAH [Am I the A——] forum, the 37-year-old woman explained that she and her husband, 25, share two kids, one of whom is a five-year-old girl.\u00a0 She works as a professor, while her husband is a stay-at-home father and an \u201camateur writer.\u201d\n<\/p>\n “He doesn’t do the best, but he takes care of the kids, so it’s fine for him to have a hobby,” the woman said of her husband, before adding that she only recently learned he was inspired by a protagonist in one of his books when naming their daughter.\n<\/p>\n
“It’s a unique and beautiful name and I loved it, but he never told me where it came from,” she said.\n<\/p>\n

However, the truth came out when the husband was reading through some of his old writings and decided to proudly show it off to his wife.\n<\/p>\n
“I immediately latched on to our daughter’s name in the document,” the mother of two said.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
At first, she admitted, she was mad because she thought her partner was actively writing his daughter into “one of his bad [young adult] stories.” But when she asked him about it, he revealed that “the name actually came from the manuscript.”\n<\/p>\n
“Now I was incredibly angry that he hadn’t told me about this and he tried to pretend like he was in the right by saying I didn’t ask,” the woman said. “You should tell people when you name their daughter after a book character.”\n<\/p>\n
The woman recalled her husband saying that “it wasn\u2019t a big deal” because he didn\u2019t finish the book, which prompted her to note that he “never finishes any of them.”\n<\/p>\n
As the conversation got heated, the husband “tried to dodge the confrontation” and eventually escaped when their son began to cry. The woman demanded her partner “to stay,” but he didn\u2019t, so while he was seemingly changing their kid\u2019s diaper, she “started putting all the papers I could get into the shredder.”\n<\/p>\n
“I was a little worked up at the time,” the woman said.\n<\/p>\n

The woman recalled that her husband “started freaking out” when he returned to the room, as he does most of his writing with a typewriter or pen. “He has digital copies,” she argued, adding that he \u201cnever actually does anything with the books anyway.\u201d\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
After a big fight, the man left with both of their children to stay at his parents\u2019 home. The woman has since been contacted by her in-laws, who have called her “a horrible mom.”\n<\/p>\n
Having asked if she was in the wrong, the comments section was quickly flooded with people saying that she reacted poorly to the situation. “You are [out] of control,” one person wrote, adding that her husband has “done nothing wrong.”\n<\/p>\n
“Please seek therapy, if for no one else, for the sake of your children,” the same person added.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
Another said that the woman “displayed the emotional bandwidth of a teenager.”\n<\/p>\n

A third commenter suggested that the woman could actually be upset about being the only wage earner for the household. However, they added that it isn\u2019t an excuse for her to destroy her husband\u2019s property.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s abuse,\u201d the person wrote, before saying that the woman should confront her husband about the real issue at hand.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
