{"id":388132,"date":"2025-09-01T00:36:31","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T00:36:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/388132\/"},"modified":"2025-09-01T00:36:31","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T00:36:31","slug":"declining-by-every-metric-australia-please-colonise-great-britain-as-immigration-onslaught-tanking-economy-leaves-us-up-the-creek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/388132\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Declining by every metric&#8217;: Australia, please colonise Great Britain as immigration onslaught, tanking economy leaves us up the creek"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Australia,\u00a0I truly despair for Britain.<\/p>\n<p>If the last few weeks are anything to go by, then things have never looked so bad for my country.<\/p>\n<p>And they\u2019re only set to get worse, not better.<\/p>\n<p>Westminster has turned into a sick pantomime of politicians completely adrift from the rest of the country.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m watching the place I love decline by virtually every metric.<\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s getting harder to laugh about it.<\/p>\n<p>So I humbly beseech you, Australia: please colonise us.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s start at the borders, or what passes for them.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/b00347a48f77940f6e21f79deafdd80a.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"\u2018Boats keep rolling in\u2019: Keir Starmer cannot \u2018get a handle\u2019 on UK\u2019s illegal boat crisis\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Since Sir Keir Starmer scrapped the Rwanda scheme last year because the \u201cadults are back in charge\u201d, more than 50,000 migrants have illegally crossed the Channel in small boats.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Starmer promised to \u201csmash the gangs\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, he\u2019s hit that figure in just over 400 days &#8211; faster than either of his predecessors.<\/p>\n<p>The gangs are thriving.<\/p>\n<p>Britain, meanwhile, rolls out hotel accommodation and benefits to people who\u2019ve contributed nothing to the system.<\/p>\n<p>Australia would have turned the boats back before they left French waters.<\/p>\n<p>We put the kettle on.<\/p>\n<p>And we wonder why social cohesion is breaking down.<\/p>\n<p>From Tower Hamlets to Epping, communities are erupting in protest over asylum hotels and allegations of violent crime involving new arrivals.<\/p>\n<p>Asylum seekers have been charged with sexual assaults, including against minors, yet the Government\u2019s priority is to set up task forces to monitor \u201canti-migrant sentiment\u201d online.<\/p>\n<p>In other words: shut up and take it.<\/p>\n<p>Residents, many of them in already deprived areas, are being told to accept the sudden arrival of hundreds of predominantly young men in their neighbourhoods, even if it makes them feel less safe.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also the pull factor no one in Westminster wants to discuss: the UK\u2019s bloated gig economy.<\/p>\n<p>In much of Europe, informal work is harder to find without papers; here, it\u2019s a buffet of zero-hours contracts, cash-in-hand delivery work and under-the-table shifts.<\/p>\n<p>Combine that with a generous welfare safety net and Britain offers something few other countries do: the guarantee of work, legal or otherwise, with benefits to fall back on if it dries up.<\/p>\n<p>Our national defence hardly offers much reassurance either.<\/p>\n<p>On paper, we\u2019re still a military power; in reality, though, we\u2019d struggle to defend the Isle of Wight without borrowing ammunition.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/58cc63c44b3be80a9012c0f3d1e973c3.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"Douglas Murray slams UK Labour\u2019s move to lower voting age\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The British Army now has just over 72,500 regular soldiers, below its own modest target of 73,000.<\/p>\n<p>Across the armed forces, the total number of full-time personnel is only around 136,000.<\/p>\n<p>Fifty years ago, we had more than 338,000.<\/p>\n<p>We talk grandly about defending NATO, sending warships to the Pacific, even arming Ukraine for the long haul.<\/p>\n<p>In truth, we\u2019d be hard-pressed to sustain a major deployment for more than a few months without leaving ourselves dangerously exposed.<\/p>\n<p>The economy? Equally anaemic.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/6eb2832f87ab99fb704b46433108f678.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"UK sees \u2018highest energy prices in the Western world\u2019\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The latest figures show unemployment up to 4.7 per cent, the highest since 2021, with more than 200,000 additional people claiming unemployment benefits since Labour took office.<\/p>\n<p>Job vacancies have slumped to around 718,000, a ten-year low.<\/p>\n<p>And payrolled employees are falling in number.<\/p>\n<p>Young people are taking the brunt of this, with those aged 24 to 35 facing the sharpest drop in opportunities as firms scale back graduate recruitment.<\/p>\n<p>And then there\u2019s the sheer scale of welfare dependency.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/10ebe0282b2af971762756e0b7cf1566.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"Farage to deport 600,000 illegal migrants upon winning the next general UK election\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>More than eight million people &#8211; almost one in eight Britons- are now on Universal Credit.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly half of them are in the \u201cno work requirements\u201d category, meaning they aren\u2019t expected to find a job any time soon.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t a safety net &#8211; it\u2019s a parallel economy of dependency.<\/p>\n<p>Local government is collapsing too.<\/p>\n<p>Councils from Nottingham to Croydon are issuing Section 114 notices.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the bureaucratic way of declaring bankruptcy.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/96bc1e612b22a47e7d9033b8a2b81b0a.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"UK has an \u2018invasion\u2019 of illegal immigrants\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Birmingham City Council, once Europe\u2019s largest local authority, is the most spectacular case.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s grappling with \u00a3760 million in equal pay liabilities, plus a \u00a3100 million IT system failure and \u00a0it is now \u00a33.35 billion in debt.<\/p>\n<p>Its solution?<\/p>\n<p>Hike council tax by the maximum allowed while slashing services.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, ask residents to pay more for less.<\/p>\n<p>And still, the basics aren\u2019t being done.<\/p>\n<p>Roads remain cratered, bin collections are cut, libraries shut and housing lists stretch into decades.<\/p>\n<p>Billions are somehow found for vanity projects &#8211; but ask for social care funding or new police officers and you\u2019re told the cupboard is bare.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/30d8b6b017612b93a00985bf9af52fe6.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"\u2018Conviction and backbone\u2019: Nigel Farage commits to stopping the boats\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of police, crime has taken on a brazen new face.<\/p>\n<p>Shoplifting and petty theft are surging; not just in the cities, but on every high street.<\/p>\n<p>Businesses complain of thieves walking in, sweeping goods into bags and strolling out, knowing the police won\u2019t bother turning up.<\/p>\n<p>Knife crime continues to plague urban areas, claiming young lives on an almost weekly basis.<\/p>\n<p>The Government talks tough but has no coherent strategy beyond headline-friendly crackdowns that rarely materialise.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, antisocial behaviour has become an accepted part of public life.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/9331a6fbd73e64ca18ecc3ddf78b7470.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"Keir Starmer \u2018doesn\u2019t know what to do\u2019 for the UK\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Drunken intimidation on public transport, vandalism and street harassment are all rising, largely unchecked.<\/p>\n<p>Yet more than 30 people a day are arrested for \u201coffensive\u201d online posts.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most absurd examples is the case of Lucy Donnelly, arrested and prosecuted for posting what police deemed an \u201coffensive\u201d comment online, despite there being no evidence of actual harm.<\/p>\n<p>Others have faced charges for tweets, Facebook posts, or even private messages.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, you\u2019re safer committing an actual crime than making a clumsy joke.<\/p>\n<p>All of this is wrapped in the political theatre of two parties that should be put out to pasture.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/87844d244c04418b834a578f6af605b2.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"Illegal migration becomes \u2018arguably the number one issue\u2019 in the UK amid mass protests\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Labour governs as if it has decades to fix everything, while the Tories, now reduced to promising they might \u201cfinally\u201d decide whether to leave the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), seem to think that dithering counts as a policy platform.<\/p>\n<p>For readers outside the UK: the ECHR is a post-war treaty that, in practice, gives foreign criminals, failed asylum seekers and anyone with a savvy lawyer a way to block deportation.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a sacred cow for Labour, a political football for the Tories, and a brick wall for anyone trying to enforce border security.<\/p>\n<p>Small wonder Reform UK is snapping at their heels.<\/p>\n<p>Which brings me back to my point: colonise us.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/156afed5df1a30e05e505cb9fa1d85c7.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"Nigel Farage\u2019s Reform surges as voters demand end to UK\u2019s migrant crisis\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>We clearly can\u2019t run this place anymore.<\/p>\n<p>We are willing, happily, to bribe our current crop of politicians to leave office.<\/p>\n<p>We will write the cheques and send them packing.<\/p>\n<p>All Australia needs to do is put together a delegation of competent, no-nonsense Aussies to start again and get this show back on the road.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ve got your own problems, sure.<\/p>\n<p>But at least you can control your borders, maintain an army and police actual crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Britain is fraying at the edges.<\/p>\n<p>The poorest communities are bearing the brunt of mass migration.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cb6b8d2721012d60a1b37759f915dc61.jpeg\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" alt=\"Britons furious as convicted migrants put in taxpayer-funded hotels\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Class, not race, is driving the resentment spilling out onto our streets.<\/p>\n<p>And still, the political class pretends it\u2019s about prejudice, because that\u2019s easier than admitting they\u2019ve failed on resources, jobs, housing and safety.<\/p>\n<p>I love this country, and I know it can rise again.<\/p>\n<p>But not until we stop pretending it\u2019s fine, admit how bad it\u2019s become, and find leaders with the courage to act.<\/p>\n<p>Until then, the alarm bells will keep ringing, and those meant to hear them will carry on pretending it\u2019s just background noise.<\/p>\n<p>Yours, a desperate Brit.<\/p>\n<p>Esther Krakue is a British commentator who has regularly appeared on Sky News Australia programs, as well as on TalkTV and GB News in the UK.
