New car registrations in France increased by 2.18% year-on-year in August, according to data released on Monday by the Plateforme automobile (PFA).<\/p>\n
\nA total of 87,850 passenger vehicles were registered in the country last month, the PFA reported. August this year had 20 working days, compared to 21 during the same period last year.<\/p>\n
\nOver the first eight months of the year, the market recorded a 7.14% annual decline, with 1,046,432 registrations, the data showed.<\/p>\n
\nNew car registrations for the Stellantis group–which includes brands such as Peugeot, Citro\u00ebn, DS, and Opel–increased by 1.74% last month compared to a year earlier.<\/p>\n
\nThe Renault group (Renault, Dacia, and Alpine brands) saw its registrations in France rise by 2.28% year-on-year in August.<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, American automaker Tesla TSLA.O experienced a sharp 47.25% drop in sales compared to the same month last year.<\/p>\n
