Emi Martinez has not been included in the Aston Villa squad to face Crystal Palace this evening.<\/a><\/p>\n This is due to him not being in the right frame of mind to play, amid ongoing uncertainty over his future.<\/p>\n Manchester United<\/a> could make an official move for Martinez if they fail to secure their primary target, Senne Lammens.<\/p>\n United have improved their offer to sign Lammens from Royal Antwerp, but they have not submitted a formal bid to Villa for Martinez since a loan proposal was rejected earlier this summer.<\/p>\n Martinez is believed to be keen on joining United, who remain determined to add a new goalkeeper to Ruben Amorim\u2019s squad.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Villa are close to signing Victor Lindel\u00f6f on a free transfer.<\/p>\n The Swedish international left United earlier this summer following the expiry of his contract at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n What do you make of the news?
