Since taking office, President Trump, 79, has played several rounds of golf. President Trump owns courses in New Jersey, Virginia, Florida and Europe. However, one of them remains “under review,” due to his legal issues.

President Trump’s prestigious course in Bedminster, New Jersey is under review due to his legal issues. President Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records in New York last year. New Jersey laws prohibit a person convicted of a crime “involving moral turpitude” from having a liquor license. President Trump’s prestigious New Jersey course needs a liquor license to sell beer, wine, etc. at the course.

You can’t really have a country club without a liquor license, can you?

<img alt="Former US president Donald Trump playing golf at his Trump Turnberry course in South Ayrshire during his visit to the UK. Both of the LLCs that own the courses are listed in President Trump’s revocable trust.

President Trump’s course and LLCs have until September 30 to provide information about “the corporate structure, ownership, and beneficiary interests” of the club.

Failure to do so could result in the temporary permits being taken away.

This story was originally reported by The Spun on Aug 31, 2025, where it first appeared in the Golf section.
