Lookman scored 20 goals, including five in the Champions League, and claimed seven assists in 40 matches last season.

Tottenham have been looking for a second attacking player, after completing a deal for Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. Atalanta valued Lookman around £43million when a proposed move to Inter Milan fell through this summer, after the player had agreed a five-year deal.

Lookman, 27, came through at Charlton Athletic before joining Everton and then RB Leipzig. Sunderland have to agree to the terms of a recall, hence the negotiations after Chelsea’s request. Bobbey, 23, has eight caps for the Netherlands and his arrival on a permanent basis should pave the way for Guiu to return to Chelsea.

Guiu’s return follows Nicolas Jackson, whose loan move to Bayern Munich was cancelled by Chelsea on Saturday and the German champions ended any hope of a further agreement last night.

It is not clear at this stage whether Guiu’s return may facilitate another departure for Jackson, which while unlikely, can’t be ruled out at this point.

Manchester United agree deal with Real Betis for Antony

Charlotte Duncker

The Antony saga at Manchester United seems to be coming to its conclusion after an agreement was reached with Real Betis.

The La Liga side issued a statement over the weekend which said they were withdrawing from the deal because they couldn’t agree on the financial side but now it has been restructured and the winger will fly out to Spain to complete his transfer today.

It is understood an agreement was reached of around €25 million and 50 per cent sell on clause. That had initially been that United would be due a share of half of any profit from a future sale but now it means they would get 50 per cent of any deal down the line.

It is not clear what the individual agreement with the player, who impressed on loan there last season is, after he was looking for one of the clubs to cover the €4m in wages he would be missing by leaving United early. However, United sources say they are no longer paying him anything.

While Antony is on his way out Kobbie Mainoo is expected to stay. The midfielder had asked to leave on loan due to a lack of minutes this season but Amorim is keen to keep him as part of the squad.

Jadon Sancho is one to keep an eye on with Villa one of a number of clubs interested in taking the forward on loan.

Fulham hopeful of signing two wingers

Peter Rutzler

Fulham are hoping to close deals for two wingers today.

Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin began a medical at Fulham yesterday ahead of a club-record €40 million (£34.6 million) transfer, while Samuel Chukwueze, the AC Milan winger, could also join him at Craven Cottage as he is due in London today for a medical ahead of a loan transfer.

Fulham have agreed to sign both players, with Kevin due to sign on a permanent basis and Chukwueze on loan with an option to buy, however both deals are still not signed off yet complete, with final details still to be confirmed.

ESRA BILGIN/ANADOLU VIA GETTY IMAGES

The west London club are looking to improve their frontline before the 7pm deadline. Marco Silva said this week that the club need to sign two wingers and a midfielder after an exceptionally quiet window. Fulham released Willian and lost Reiss Nelson, at the conclusion of his loan deal, this summer. They have retained an interest in re-signing Nelson from Arsenal, who they have tried to sign on loan, while they have also been mooted as an option for Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling, who would prefer to stay in London.

Kevin, a 22-year-old winger, has scored four times in Shakhtar’s Champions League qualification phase this season. Fulham’s previous record-deal was Emile Smith Rowe’s £34million move from Arsenal.

So far Fulham have only signed a back up goalkeeper, Benjamin Lecomte, 34, from Montpellier.

Winger Martial Godo, 22, is also expected to leave the club for Strasbourg before the deadline on a permanent basis.
