A shocked Joel Dahmen delivered a gut-wrenching interview after throwing away the chance to win his second PGA Tour title. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The American, who has risen to fame as a popular character on the Netflix documentary ‘Full Swing’<\/a>, was three shots clear heading into the final round of the Corales Puntacana Championship.<\/p>\n

However, Dahmen carded a disappointing 76 on Sunday, which included three bogeys in the closing three holes. <\/p>\n

The lowlight was a desperately short miss on the 17th green, before Dahmen ended up one shot behind eventual winner Garrick Higgo.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019m in a little bit of shock, honestly,\u201d Dahmen said after finishing in a tie for second. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not how you win a golf tournament, I\u2019ll tell you that. I don\u2019t deserve to win it.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, bogeying the last three is inexcusable. Middle of the fairway with an 8-iron on 16 to hit it where I hit it, you can\u2019t get up and down over there. <\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t know what happened on the short one on 17. I mean, I\u2019m obviously nervous, but unfortunately, I\u2019m prone to that at times. <\/p>\n

“You can call it a lapse in concentration. It\u2019s not like a yippee thing, it\u2019s not like one of those things. But bad time to do it. <\/p>\n

“And then 18\u2019s just a really hard hole. We had 220 [to the] pin and wind surfed on it and hit a very average chip. I hit a good putt. I actually thought it was a straight putt and broke a little left on me. <\/p>\n

“All of a sudden, I wake up and I lost the golf tournament.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dahmen added: \u201cThis one could take a while to get over. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s one of those things, you learn more in defeat unfortunately. I don’t know what I’m going to do yet. Like I said, I still think I’m in a little bit of shock. Felt like I was in a good head space. I was in a good head space but sometimes your body doesn’t cooperate.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis one\u2019s going to sting for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the PGA Tour<\/a>‘s main event of the weekend, Justin Thomas<\/a> ended a three-year drought by winning the RBC Heritage. <\/p>\n

The Ryder Cup<\/a> star beat Andrew Novak in a play-off after they both finished 17-under-par at Harbour Town. <\/p>\n

Thomas, who sank a 21-foot putt to win, had not tasted victory since the 2022 PGA Championship. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the ball went in, it was pure joy\u2026 I just was so happy. I couldn’t stop smiling,” Thomas said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I’ve been playing well enough to win for a couple years. <\/p>\n

“But just because you feel that way and you are, obviously that doesn’t mean that you’re going to.\u201d<\/p>\n
