And, for lack of a better word, it was an anti-biopic.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DOCTWxWjFAr\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cYou know, it\u2019s really not a biopic,\u201d he said (via <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/music\/news\/bruce-springsteen-talks-telluride-film-festival-discussion-1236503460\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Variety<\/a>). \u201cIt just takes a couple years out of my life when I was 31 and 32, and looks at them really at a time when I made this particular record, and when I went through some just difficult places in my life, you know. And, I\u2019m old and I don\u2019t give a fuck what I do now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cooper said White\u2019s approach to role had \u201can intensity of vulnerability and authenticity\u201d he\u2019d seen across Springsteen\u2019s work. \u201cJeremy has two things that really, for me, make up Bruce Springsteen, and one is humility. And the other is swagger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s half-right,\u201d Springsteen joked in response, drawing laughter from the Colorado crowd.<\/p>\n<p>It echoes comments made by the heartland rocker earlier in the year, when he gave enthusiastic praised those involved in the film. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/film\/bruce-springsteen-new-biopic-deliver-me-from-nowhere-it-sounded-like-fun-3856858\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Speaking to\u00a0Variety\u2019s Awards Circuit Podcast, he discussed how the project came about,<\/a> saying it was \u201can interesting concept, because it\u2019s only a couple of years out of my life\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cIt\u2019s \u201981, \u201982, and centred around the creation of that particular record while I was simultaneously recording \u2018Born in the USA\u2019 and also going through some personal difficulties that I\u2019ve been living with my whole life.
