A journalist has provided an update on Alexander Isak\u2019s proposed record move from Newcastle United to Liverpool for a fee of around \u00a3125m.<\/p>\n
For most of this transfer window, it\u2019s been unclear whether Newcastle will sanction Isak\u2019<\/strong><\/a>s move to Premier League rivals Liverpool.<\/p>\n It was suggested that Newcastle want as much as \u00a3150m for their prized asset, while it\u2019s also been claimed that they won\u2019t let him leave until a suitable replacement is secured.<\/p>\n However, there have been huge developments over the past 24 hours, with it reported in the early hours of Monday morning that\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>Liverpool\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>and\u00a0Newcastle have an agreement over a record deal for Isak, which is worth a fee in the region of \u00a3125m.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Isak subsequently travelled to Liverpool to complete a medical, with an update on Monday afternoon claiming that all contracts have been \u2018signed\u2019 for this transfer.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n At the time of writing, Isak\u2019s move is yet to be formally announced, though there is nothing to worry about as Sky Sports journalist Vinny O\u2019Connor, who was reporting from Liverpool\u2019s training ground, claims the massive deal is \u201ccloser than ever\u201d amid a \u201csign\u201d that \u201csomething is happening\u201d.<\/p>\n MUST-READ DEADLINE DAY COVERAGE ON F365\u2026 O\u2019Connor said on Sky Sports: \u201cIt\u2019s now closer than ever. Isak has been pushing hard for the transfer, and late last night the two clubs finally agreed on a fee.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been at Liverpool\u2019s training ground all day, and at first the atmosphere was very open. But a while ago, we were asked to stay outside the building, away from the reception area, and remain in the car park.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s always a sign something is happening, and sure enough, Isak was inside completing his media duties, the photographs, the interviews, all of it, ahead of the official announcement.<\/p>\n \u201cThat announcement will confirm him as a British record signing at \u00a3125 million, joining Liverpool from Newcastle United on a six-year contract. His arrival gives the club another attacking option and has allowed Harvey Elliott to move on, with a potential deal lined up at Aston Villa.<\/p>\n \u201cThis has been one of the big sagas of the transfer window, and Liverpool making a huge deadline-day splash like this feels like the perfect ending to the story.\u201d<\/p>\n Isak might not be Liverpool\u2019s only deadline day signing as they are also looking to complete a deal for Marc Guehi, though this is far from guaranteed.<\/p>\n Crystal Palace are struggling to land a suitable replacement, with O\u2019Connor making a \u201cvery real chance\u201d claim regarding this deal.<\/p>\n Sky Sports\u2019 O\u2019Connor explained: \u201cLiverpool and Crystal Palace have agreed a \u00a335million deal, and Guehi has been given the green light to have his medical. That medical is happening down in London, which Liverpool planned in advance to make sure there were no timing issues with the 7pm deadline.<\/p>\n #\u201dThe sticking point has been Crystal Palace needing a replacement before they let him go. They thought they had that lined up with Igor Julio, but that deal collapsed.
