Let\u2019s have a look at the likely 12 next Team USA and Team Europe players.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-86d8b3e9-3ad2-4a01-99d2-c56814f55ee7\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/>Team USA<\/p>\n<p id=\"a64c1668-85cd-4cd6-8b69-9012992331bd\">One of the big talking points ever since he was appointed captain was whether <strong>Keegan Bradley<\/strong> would make the team.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning, he suggested he&#8217;d only play if he qualified automatically, but as time went on, his form remained so strong that there was a compelling argument for him to pick himself as a wildcard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">Subscribe to the Golf Monthly newsletter to stay up to date with all the latest tour news, equipment news, reviews, head-to-heads and buyer\u2019s guides from our team of experienced experts.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, he didn&#8217;t, reasoning that: &#8220;Ultimately I was chosen to do a job. The two-time Walker Cup player will hope the 2027 match at <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/courses\/top-100-courses\/adare-manor-golf-club-course-review-169308\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/courses\/top-100-courses\/adare-manor-golf-club-course-review-169308\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adare Manor<\/a> will mark his Ryder Cup debut.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brian Harman<\/strong> can&#8217;t have been far away from a pick, having played in 2023, emerging with a 2-2-0 record. He also won the Valero Texas Open and finished 12th in the team rankings, making him a certainty for the B-team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Novak<\/strong> finished ahead of Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay, and Sam Burns in the team rankings, meaning he&#8217;d be an easy pick for the B-team, while there&#8217;d surely be room for <strong>Wyndham Clark<\/strong>, too, who played in 2023 but has endured a frustrating season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"vanilla-image-block\" style=\"padding-top:56.28%;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/m87w6ChdTLBrcuS3fKnh77.jpg\" alt=\"Wyndham Clark at the European Masters\"   loading=\"lazy\" data-new-v2-image=\"true\" data-original-mos=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/m87w6ChdTLBrcuS3fKnh77.jpg\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/m87w6ChdTLBrcuS3fKnh77.jpg\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Wyndham Clark would likely have made a B-team, despite a frustrating year <\/p>\n<p>(Image credit: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p id=\"6b8413c4-40a8-4221-b73a-b2a97293c641\"><strong>Chris Gotterup<\/strong> was being spoken of as a potential Ryder Cup rookie after<a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/live\/genesis-scottish-open-2025-leaderboard-live-updates\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/live\/genesis-scottish-open-2025-leaderboard-live-updates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> pipping Rory McIlroy to the Genesis Scottish Open<\/a> title and finishing third at The Open. In the end, it didn&#8217;t convince Bradley, but he&#8217;s shown enough this year for a place in the hypothetical reserve 12.<\/p>\n<p>Another player who found some excellent form later in the season was <strong>Kurt Kitayama<\/strong>, including <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/kurt-kitayama-wins-3m-open\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/kurt-kitayama-wins-3m-open\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">victory at the 3M Open<\/a>. Like Gotterup, he&#8217;ll have to wait for a maiden Ryder Cup appearance, but the World No.34 would surely be in the next 12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Akshay Bhatia<\/strong> hasn&#8217;t won on the PGA Tour this year, but he&#8217;s been in good form and placed a creditable T13 at the Tour Championship on his way to finishing 19th in the team rankings.<\/p>\n<p>If a next 12 was named, the 23-year-old would surely be a strong contender as one to watch for future Ryder Cup teams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rickie Fowler<\/strong> made his sixth Ryder Cup appearance in 2023 off the back of a brilliant PGA Tour season that included <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/live\/rocket-mortgage-classic-leaderboard-updates-2023\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/live\/rocket-mortgage-classic-leaderboard-updates-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winning the Rocket Mortgage Classic<\/a>. His form hasn&#8217;t been as good since, although there was an uptick in recent months, suggesting he still has what it takes to make the next 12.<\/p>\n<p>Another player with vast Ryder Cup experience is <strong>Jordan Spieth<\/strong>. It will seem strange he is not involved in 2025 &#8211; the first time he won&#8217;t have played in the Ryder Cup since 2012 &#8211; but even with some indifferent form, he&#8217;d be a shoo-in for the B-team.<\/p>\n<p>Another player who was involved two years ago is <strong>Max Homa<\/strong>, and he performed well, too, with a 3-1-1 record.<\/p>\n<p>He also won all four of his matches at last year&#8217;s Presidents Cup at <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/tour\/royal-montreal-golf-club-presidents-cup\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/tour\/royal-montreal-golf-club-presidents-cup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Royal Montreal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Some horrendous form put paid to his chances of a spot in Bradley&#8217;s team, but his recent US team record suggests he&#8217;d make the back-up 12.<\/p>\n<p class=\"vanilla-image-block\" style=\"padding-top:56.24%;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Ujuv6ZK6ZbSVHEWbuzbSmK.jpg\" alt=\"Max Homa watches a shot\"   loading=\"lazy\" data-new-v2-image=\"true\" data-original-mos=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Ujuv6ZK6ZbSVHEWbuzbSmK.jpg\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Ujuv6ZK6ZbSVHEWbuzbSmK.jpg\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Max Homa has a good record in US team competition, but his form has deserted him <\/p>\n<p>(Image credit: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p id=\"ee46e878-76de-4d14-9488-dc2f5b33c07f\">While Bryson DeChambeau is the only LIV Golfer in the US team, another from the circuit, <strong>Patrick Reed<\/strong>, would surely have a strong claim to make the next 12, particularly after winning in Dallas earlier in the year, and with three previous Ryder Cup appearances.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-62a3a02d-f3bd-469c-8207-ab145ce36d4a\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/>Team Europe<\/p>\n<p id=\"11e090d1-4761-4cea-84fa-923d8a28f9be\">In the end, Luke Donald&#8217;s wildcard picks were relatively straightforward, with all six having played for him at the 2023 match, but one player who was particularly unfortunate to miss out was <strong>Matt Wallace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He placed 12th in the team rankings, but it wasn&#8217;t quite enough for a place &#8211; a situation he appeared to be aware of after finishing T2 at the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/live\/european-masters-leaderboard-report-dp-world-tour\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/live\/european-masters-leaderboard-report-dp-world-tour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Omega European Masters<\/a>, when he became emotional before declaring: &#8220;I&#8217;ll never give up on the Ryder Cup.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Two LIV Golfers will be in Donald&#8217;s European side, Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, but you surely couldn&#8217;t leave out another, <strong>Sergio Garcia<\/strong>, from the B-team. He&#8217;s the Ryder Cup record points scorer, and had <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/sergio-garcia-rejoins-dp-world-tour\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/sergio-garcia-rejoins-dp-world-tour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejoined the DP World Tour<\/a> in a bid to make the team.<\/p>\n<p>A run of poor form ended that dream, but he&#8217;d be one of the first names in the second 12.<\/p>\n<p class=\"vanilla-image-block\" style=\"padding-top:56.24%;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/5XbdA5efENcBKyRfNFLAFj.jpg\" alt=\"Sergio Garcia smiling during a tournament\"   loading=\"lazy\" data-new-v2-image=\"true\" data-original-mos=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/5XbdA5efENcBKyRfNFLAFj.jpg\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/5XbdA5efENcBKyRfNFLAFj.jpg\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Sergio Garcia is the record Ryder Cup points scorer <\/p>\n<p>(Image credit: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p id=\"f0ce8837-69ce-455a-80a3-0e241b01c156\"><strong>Thomas Detry<\/strong> won the WM Phoenix Open on the way to placing 13th in the team rankings, but while that wasn&#8217;t enough to convince Donald to hand him a Ryder Cup wildcard, it would likely be enough to get him into the B-team.<\/p>\n<p>Finishing between 14th and 17th in the team rankings are four more players who would likely be in contention for the next 12 &#8211; <strong>Marco Penge<\/strong>, <strong>Aaron Rai<\/strong>, <strong>Jordan Smith<\/strong> and <strong>Harry Hall<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the wildcard picks, Penge had three DP World Tour top-10 finishes in a row, including victory in the Danish Golf Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Rai made the FedEx Cup Playoffs before bowing out at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Smith has been runner-up twice on the DP World Tour this season and is in line for a PGA Tour card because of his Race to Dubai ranking , while Hall finished T17 in the Tour Championship after a spell where he had been mentioned as a potential for Donald&#8217;s team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"vanilla-image-block\" style=\"padding-top:56.24%;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/tAJDPCPmMBmMcY5gPBQN3D.jpg\" alt=\"Aaron Rai at the Betfred British Masters\"   loading=\"lazy\" data-new-v2-image=\"true\" data-original-mos=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/tAJDPCPmMBmMcY5gPBQN3D.jpg\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/tAJDPCPmMBmMcY5gPBQN3D.jpg\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Rai reached the FedEx Cup Playoffs<\/p>\n<p>(Image credit: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p id=\"6fc398e1-fe90-4ddb-80bc-bd05ad070476\">Another in the running for a PGA Tour card is Norwegian <strong>Kristoffer Reitan<\/strong>, who has produced several excellent DP World Tour performances this season, including <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/live\/soudal-open-leaderboard-dp-world-tour-belgium-2025\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/live\/soudal-open-leaderboard-dp-world-tour-belgium-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">victory at the Soudal Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>PGA Tour pro <strong>Stephan Jaeger<\/strong> would also be a worthy contender for the B-team after a season with three top-10 finishes and making the FedEx Cup Playoffs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alex Noren<\/strong> was a Ryder Cup winner in 2018, but his title at the Betfred British Masters came too late for the 2025 team. Given that, the unlucky Dane would surely make the B-team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laurie Canter<\/strong> is having an excellent season on the DP World Tour, with a highlight being victory in the Bahrain Championship. It wasn&#8217;t enough to force his way into serious contention for a place on Donald&#8217;s team, finishing 25th in the team rankings, but it may have been good enough for a place on the B-team.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-b2aeb872-7ce6-48eb-a103-d3b6e964799c\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/>Other Notable Names<\/p>\n<p id=\"25ca5956-8270-4001-8dcb-068f95a9d038\">In truth, a host of other US players could make a second US team, such is the embarrassment of riches on offer.<\/p>\n<p>One is six-time PGA Tour winner <strong>Lucas Glover<\/strong>, who, incredibly, has never played in a Ryder Cup but remains a solid performer on the PGA Tour and placed 18th in the team rankings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tony Finau<\/strong> would also be a contender for the second 12 despite some poor form in recent months, while a player for the future is surely <strong>Max Greyserman<\/strong>, who is firmly inside the world&#8217;s top 50.<\/p>\n<p>Most other years, LIV Golf&#8217;s <strong>Brooks Koepka<\/strong> would be one of the first names in Bradley&#8217;s Ryder Cup team, but his form has been so poor in 2025 he may have struggled to make the next 12.<\/p>\n<p class=\"vanilla-image-block\" style=\"padding-top:56.24%;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
