{"id":390448,"date":"2025-09-01T23:30:16","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T23:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/390448\/"},"modified":"2025-09-01T23:30:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T23:30:16","slug":"one-of-glasgows-most-haunted-hotels-with-rich-history-up-for-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/390448\/","title":{"rendered":"One of Glasgow&#8217;s &#8216;most haunted&#8217; hotels with rich history up for sale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A \u2018HAUNTED\u2019 hotel with a Michelin Guide recommended restaurant has been put on the market.<\/p>\n<p>The Cathedral House Hotel in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/glasgow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glasgow<\/a> city centre was built in 1877 and is home to Celentano\u2019s eaterie.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Cathedral House Hotel.\" height=\"530\" width=\"526\" data-credit=\"\" data-img=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/539099527_1275026184633736_1100823057160072193_n.jpg\" data-caption=\"Cathedral House Hotel in Glasgow city centre\"   loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/539099527_1275026184633736_1100823057160072193_n.jpg\" role=\"img\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>1<\/p>\n<p>Cathedral House Hotel in Glasgow city centre<\/p>\n<p>The team behind the hotel, which is famous for its rich history, have taken to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/social-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> to confirm that it\u2019s now on the market.<\/p>\n<p>In the post, the team said: \u201cBig News!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter seven incredible years of growing and nurturing Cathedral House, we are excited to announce that we have made the decision to put it on the market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a truly amazing experience, and we are deeply grateful to all the customers, suppliers and team members who have been part of this journey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom day one when we took a run-down building to welcoming Celentano\u2019s on board four years ago, it has been a journey full of hard work, growth, and amazing memories.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited for what comes next.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Owners Shane and Laura McKenzie purchased the hotel back in 2018 and gave it an extensive renovation in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Shane joked that they hadn\u2019t come across a ghost in that first year of living there but didn\u2019t mind that paranormal fans enjoyed coming to visit.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel was originally built as a halfway house for Duke Street Prison.<\/p>\n<p>It was then taken over by nearby Glasgow Cathedral where it was used as a place for Sunday school teaching and choir practice, before it finally became a hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Co-owners of Celentano\u2019s, husband-and-wife team Dean and Anna Parker opened the restaurant in 2021 and say they will continue to trade unaffected until the end of this year.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/michelin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michelin<\/a> Guide\u2019s inspectors awarded Celentano\u2019s a Bib Gourmand, while recommending the consummately seasoned Italian dishes and in particular, the \u201cterrific beef fat potato strati\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>For those who may be interested in purchasing Cathedral House, they added that you can get in touch directly with them or contact CDLH for more details via the email peter.darroch@cdlh.co.uk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A \u2018HAUNTED\u2019 hotel with a Michelin Guide recommended restaurant has been put on the market.
