Robin Wright<\/a> has joined the growing list of celebrities who have left America and aren’t looking back.<\/p>\n

The House of Cards<\/a> actress, 59, opened up about her big move in a recent interview with the\u00a0U.K.’s Sunday Times<\/a>, sharing that she and architect boyfriend Henry Smith, 52, are happily renting a home on the English seaside.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s liberating to be done,” she told the outlet with a grin. “Be done with searching, looking and getting 60 per cent of what you wanted.”<\/p>\n

The Texas-born and California-raised star didn’t mince words when it came to her reason for departing her home country: “America is a s—show,” she said simply. “I love being in this country. There\u2019s a freedom of self here.”<\/p>\n

She continued, “People are so kind. They\u2019re living. They\u2019re not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That\u2019s most of America. Everything\u2019s rush, competition and speed.”<\/p>\n

She added that away from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, she also gets the pleasure of enjoying peace with her partner. “I love the quiet,” she said. “And I\u2019ve met my person. Finally.”<\/p>\n

But that’s not to say that England doesn’t have its own quirks. The Princess Bride<\/a> star shared that she has taken note of the U.K.’s obsession with class, and is still adjusting to navigating that cultural difference.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s very evident when you\u2019re in a room and you feel the judgment or the praise of someone who\u2019s more elevated,” she said. “I\u2019m trying to figure it out. Why are you guys so obsessed with who went to this boarding school or this university? Who gives a s\u2014?”<\/p>\n

Though Wright did not specify any political reasons behind her departure, she joins the chorus of famous Americans who have left the country in the wake of Donald Trump<\/a>‘s reelection. Earlier this year, Ellen DeGeneres<\/a> and Rosie O’Donnell<\/a> both cited Trump’s second term<\/a> as the reason for their respective moves<\/a> overseas to Europe.<\/p>\n

Most recently, The Life of Chuck star Mark Hamill<\/a> told\u00a0The Times<\/a> that he considered his own exodus from the country<\/a>, only to be shut down by his wife, Marilou York. He explained that after Trump’s 2024 presidential victory, he presented her with two options: a move to London or Ireland.<\/p>\n

“She\u2019s very clever,” Hamill said. “She didn\u2019t respond right away, but a week later she said, ‘I’m surprised you would allow him to force you out of your own country.’ That son of a bitch. I thought, ‘I\u2019m not leaving.'”<\/p>\n

Hamill, who lived in London while filming the Star Wars<\/a> trilogy, has been a vocal critic of the Trump administration, but noted, “I still believe there are more honest, decent people than there are the MAGA crowd. If I didn\u2019t, I\u2019d move back to England.”<\/p>\n
