Sky Sports commentator Wayne “Radar” Riley believes the bookmakers have got their odds wrong for the forthcoming Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Team USA have been installed as odds-on favourites with most major bookies in the UK, with Keegan Bradley<\/a>‘s side favoured to continue the lengthy streak of wins for the home team.<\/p>\n

European captain Luke Donald<\/a> has conceded that the home support will be the biggest advantage Team USA will have, but the Englishman’s line-up has the upper hand on previous experience.<\/p>\n

JJ Spaun, Russell Henley<\/a>, Cameron Young<\/a> and Ben Griffin will all be making their Ryder Cup<\/a> debuts later this month, while Rasmus Hojgaard<\/a> is the only rookie on Donald’s team that features 11 of the 12 players who lifted the trophy in Rome two years ago.<\/p>\n

William Hill<\/a> have the US team as 8\/11 favourites to win this year’s Ryder Cup, with Europe at 11\/8 to record their first win on American soil since the Miracle at Medinah in 2012.<\/p>\n

You can get odds of 12\/1 on a 14-14 tie, which would be enough for Europe to retain the trophy for another two years, but Riley believes that Europe should be favourites to win outright.<\/p>\n

“Europe should be the favourites going into this Ryder Cup, there\u2019s no doubt about it,” said Riley, who will be patrolling the fairways at Bethpage Black as the on-course commentator for Sky Sports.<\/p>\n

“There\u2019s no reason to be fearful of this United States team lead by Keegan Bradley. There are so many strong characters in Team Europe, like Rory McIlroy<\/a>, Jon Rahm<\/a> and Shane Lowry<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Matt Fitzpatrick<\/a> was the final pick and there were no surprises there. He\u2019s a US Open<\/a> champion, so you can\u2019t leave him out.\u201d<\/p>\n
