Meghan Markle has posted a rare photo of her and Prince Harry\u2019s kids, Archie and Lilibet<\/a>, on the set of her series, With Love, Meghan<\/a>. Harry and Meghan<\/a> tend to keep their children out of the spotlight, however, some new snaps (which only show the backs of their heads), reveal both Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, are sporting their dad\u2019s adorable red hair colour. <\/p>\n

Prince Harry has previously said the red hair-gene comes from Princess Diana\u2019s side of the family. Appearing on the Stephen Colbert show in 2023, Prince Harry said his kid\u2019s look like his mother. \u201cDefinitely my mum,\u201d he said in response to a question about where he sees a family resemblance. \u201cThe ginger gene is a strong one!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Spencer gene is very, very strong,\u201d he continued. \u201cI actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that should this go the distance and we have kids that there\u2019s no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife\u2019s genes, but I was wrong! Go gingers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the public profile of their royal-celebrity parents, the Sussex kids are deliberately kept out of the spotlight. Prince Harry has been very vocal and critical of the public nature of his own childhood. In his memoir, Spare, Harry wrote: \u201cThe press made my childhood a spectacle, invading every moment, stripping away any sense of normalcy or privacy.\u201d He also said he wanted to give his children the \u201cchildhood I never had\u201d, away from the public eye.<\/p>\n

And so far, Harry and Meghan have managed to share just enough of their children to avoid media invasions of their privacy, and also enough to let them live their own life. Here\u2019s what we know about Harry and Meghan\u2019s kids.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have two kids: Archie and Lilibet Sussex. The two were both given royal titles<\/a>, and are known as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Here\u2019s what we know about the two young royals.<\/p>\n

Meghan has said Archie is full of energy, telling the Evening Standard<\/a> in 2021 that he \u201ckeeps us on our toes\u201d. \u201c[Archie] is so good,\u201d she began. \u201cWe are very lucky with our little one. He is just so busy, he is all over the place. He keeps us on our toes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Princess Lilibet<\/p>\n

Princess Lilibet is the youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex<\/a>. Her full name is Lilibet Diana, an homage to both Harry\u2019s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and his mother, Princess Diana.<\/p>\n

On Lili\u2019s birthday in 2025, Meghan shared a photo with Lilibet and Harry, writing: \u201cThe sweetest bond to watch unfold \ud83d\udc95 Daddy\u2019s little girl and favourite adventurer.\u201d<\/p>\n

What Are The Last Names Of Harry & Meghan\u2019s Kids?<\/p>\n

When they were born, Archie and Lilibet were given the surname Mountbatten-Windsor<\/strong>. However, given the family\u2019s choice to give the children royal titles, Harry and Meghan\u2019s kids now have the last name Sussex<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Mindy Kaling in an episode of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, the Duchess explained why the Sussex last name is special to her. \u201cIt\u2019s so funny too that you keep saying \u2018Meghan Markle\u2019. You know I\u2019m Sussex now,\u201d she told Kaling. \u201cYou have kids and you go, \u2018No, I share my name with my children.\u2019 I didn\u2019t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to say, \u2018This is our family name. Our little family name.’\u201d<\/p>\n

How Old Are Harry & Meghan\u2019s Kids?<\/p>\n

As of the time of publishing in September 2025, Harry & Meghan\u2019s kids were aged six and four.
Archie was born on May 6, 2019, making him six years old<\/strong> in 2025. Meanwhile, Lilibet was born on June 4 2021, making her four years old<\/strong>. There\u2019s just over a two-year age gap between Archie and Lilibet. <\/p>\n
