Shakur Stevenson<\/a> appears to be on the verge of announcing his next fight.<\/p>\n

Stevenson currently reigns as the WBC Lightweight World Champion with his most recent outing coming against Mexico\u2019s William Zepeda at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York in July.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old from Newark, New Jersey<\/a> put on one of the most exciting performances of his professional career against the previously unbeaten Zepeda, winning via unanimous decision to mark the third defence of his WBC crown.<\/p>\n

He has now shared details of what could be next, setting his sights on making the move up to super-lightweight to become a four-division world champion.<\/p>\n

In an interview with How Boxing Works<\/a>, Stevenson revealed that he expects to face and beat WBO Champion at 140, Teofimo Lopez, before immediately vacating the belt so that his close friend Keyshawn Davis can win it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m gonna tell y\u2019all in advance and y\u2019all can call it whatever y\u2019all want, I\u2019m gonna beat Teo, yes, get the title and I\u2019m gonna vacate and Keyshawn [Davis] can get that belt, that\u2019ll be his belt.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The latest report on the fight is that that Stevenson has signed and is now waiting for Lopez \u2013 who made the most recent defence of his crown in May when he outpointed mandatory challenger Arnold Barboza Jr \u2013 to do the same.<\/p>\n

As for Keyshawn Davis, the unbeaten 26-year-old from Norfolk, Virginia is set to make the move up to 140lbs having previously held the WBO 135 belt before he was stripped for failing to make weight ahead of a defence against Edwin De Los Santos.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Shakur Stevenson appears to be on the verge of announcing his next fight.
