BEAL CITY, Mich. (WILX) – A small Michigan town made headlines for a catfishing case several years ago, and now it\u2019s back in the spotlight. <\/p>\n
The case is the plot of a new Netflix documentary, \u2018Unknown Number: The High School Catfish.\u2019<\/p>\n
The documentary was shot in several parts of the state. <\/p>\n
Some video was even captured at St. Johns High School. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was really important for us to spend time in Michigan. To show what Michigan is like. To show what this small, small town of Beal City is like, and where these kids have grown up their entire childhood,\u201d said Director Skye Borgman. <\/p>\n
The movie is centered around teens who receive threatening messages from an unknown number, hence the documentary\u2019s title. <\/p>\n
\u201cReally the overall message of this film is about cyber bullying and what a huge impact it has on students, and on their parents and families, and people who love them,\u201d said Borgman. <\/p>\n
Who\u2019s behind the messages is the shocking part of the film. <\/p>\n
Borgman said you\u2019ll have to watch for more answers. <\/p>\n
\u2018Unknown Number: The High School Catfish\u2019 is available on Netflix right now. <\/p>\n
