interested in Robinson earlier in the window, though a deal appeared to fade away as Doyle arrived.

Robinson, who is out of contract in 2026, appeared to still be on the radar, but he may instead join Birmingham City.

Reporter Pete O’Rourke claims that Birmingham City are now attempting to rush through a late deal for Robinson.

The Blues are already targeting Will Smallbone, another player on Wrexham’s wish list, but are now looking to land Robinson as well.

The Sheffield United captain can play at centre-back or left-back and can offer fine versatility, alongside Championship experience, in the heart of the Birmingham back line.

Time is ticking, though, and with the deadline already passed, Birmingham must have already submitted documents to the EFL ahead of a potential move.

Conor Coady misses out on Jack Robinson reunion

One man who would have been delighted to see Robinson arrive at the 2014-15 season, and could have been key men in Parkinson’s back three.

Instead, Robinson could end up joining Birmingham to play a part in their journey alongside Tom Brady, rather than joining the Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds project at Wrexham.

Wrexham are closing in on another defensive addition as Phil Parkinson brings his
