Things between King Charles and Prince Harry<\/a> have changed dramatically in the past few months. First, they were in the middle of a bitter feud, with the King not speaking to his youngest son and Harry getting news about his father\u2019s health secondhand. Then, aides for the two met recently, signaling a reconciliation could be in the works. Now, the two are expected to finally meet again for the first time since February 2024.<\/p>\n

But does that mean we could see Harry and Meghan<\/a> back as working royals sometime soon? According to Kristen Meinzer, Prince Harry didn\u2019t want to completely surrender his senior royal duties, and he would consider returning to the UK, at least part-time.<\/p>\n

Meinzer told Daily Express US<\/a> that, \u201cHarry has repeatedly said that it was never his intention to completely surrender his senior royal duties.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cIn a perfect world, he and Meghan would have been able to do what Edward and Sophie did early on in their marriage \u2013 pursue their own passions while also serving the crown.\u201d Instead, what happened was that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle completely retreated from royal life and moved to the US.<\/p>\n

This was Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s decision, according to Meinzer. \u201cBut the Queen did not grant Harry and Meghan the same opportunity, nor did the institution treat the racism Meghan faced with the seriousness it warranted.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cBut Charles is not his mother. And if he arranged for their duties to have both some flexibility and a great deal of safety, I think Harry and Meghan would certainly consider accepting the opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The expert also spoke about the thorny issue of security and whether the Prince and his family would return to the U.K. \u201cI think Harry would love to return to the UK, at least part-time,\u201d she said. \u201cHe wants to spend time with his UK friends and family. He wants his wife and children to know and love his homeland.\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, according to Meinzer, \u201cThat\u2019s why he\u2019s been trying so hard to reinstate the security that Charles took away. He wants to spend time there, but he wants to do so safely.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, Prince Harry<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0King Charles\u00a0are set to reunite in the U.K. The Duke of Sussex will be in London on Sept. 8, ironically the anniversary of\u00a0Queen Elizabeth II<\/a>\u2019s death, for the annual WellChild Awards. And according to The Mirror<\/a>,\u00a0there is \u201cdetermination on both sides to make [a reunion] happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody is pretending the wider family issues have been resolved, but this is about beginning with Charles and Harry,\u201d the outlet said.<\/p>\n

This new development comes months after Prince Harry publicly pleaded for a reconciliation with his estranged family in a BBC interview, \u201cI would love\u00a0reconciliation with my family<\/a>,\u201d he said, going on to add that, \u201cThere\u2019s no point continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don\u2019t know how much longer my father has. He won\u2019t speak to me because of this security stuff [the Sussex family is entitled to in the U.K.], but it would be nice to reconcile.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whether that means he and Meghan will soon be working royals again, this upcoming reunion is a really great sign for a man and his son. We can\u2019t deny that.<\/p>\n
