Leeds were confident they had struck a deal to land the Wales star.

Fulham wanted to sign players before selling Wilson, after The Cottagers initially rejected a loan bid for Wilson from Leeds. Fulham signed Samuel Chukwueze and Kevin, and that gave Leeds hope of a deal.

But Fulham pulled the plug on a move for Wilson at the final stage. Hull have a transfer embargo in place, meaning they could only sign players on free transfers or on loan deals.

It appears then, that Leeds have let Gyabi go on a free. However, to compensate The Whites, the Hull Daily Mail claim that Leeds have inserted a massive 50% sell-on clause in Gyabi’s contract with Hull.

Leeds were expected to say goodbye to six players going into the final week of the window. But since then, Gyabi has failed to make it at Leeds.

For half of the three years Gyabi spent at Leeds, the midfielder was on loan at Plymouth. But relegation last season saw Gyabi return, when survival might have seen Gyabi remain with Argyle this summer.

Now at Hull, Gyabi posted a touching message.
