Mon 1 Sep 2025 Residents of a village south of York have been told to boil their water this morning (Monday).<\/p>\n Yorkshire Water has urged villagers in Wheldrake to do this before drinking any water.<\/p>\n They have tankered supplies to the village while work is ongoing.<\/p>\n A message on its website says: \u201cAreas affected: Wheldrake, York, YO19.<\/p>\n \u201cRoutine tests have shown that the water quality in your area doesn\u2019t meet our usual high standards \u2013 please continue following boil water advice until further notice. <\/p>\n \u201cBoiling your water before consumption is sufficient protection.\u201d<\/p>\n A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: \u201cRoutine sampling of water supply in the YO19 6 area identified the need to issue a boil order notice to just over 250 properties in the area on the evening of Saturday 30 August. <\/p>\n \u201cWe are sorry to everyone impacted and grateful for their patience as we work to resolve the issue.<\/p>\n \u201cOur water quality team are working to identify the cause of the problem and rectify it as soon as possible so we can lift the boil order.
