Credit: Riverstone Hotels  \/ Whitbread.<\/p>\n<p class=\"drop-cap\">Premier Inn\u2019s parent company Whitbread has secured \u2018mind to grant\u2019 planning permission from Edinburgh City Council for the development of a new Premier Inn brand hotel at Edinburgh Airport, Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>The new 218-room \u201cbudget\u201d hotel will open in 2028.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hotelmanagement-network.com\/wp-content\/themes\/goodlife-wp-B2B\/assets\/images\/GMS-logo.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Discover B2B Marketing That Performs <\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tCombine business intelligence and editorial excellence to reach engaged professionals across 36 leading media platforms.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaldatamarketingsolutions.com\/\" class=\"gms-find-out-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFind out more <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Whitbread has collaborated with development business Riverstone Hotels on the project.\u00a0The partners revealed plans in November 2024 to construct the hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Riverstone proceeded to file a planning application for the L-shaped building, which will span ground level plus four storeys.<\/p>\n<p>The permission follows months of \u201cpositive\u201d discussions with Edinburgh City Council.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With the approval, Premier Inn will expand its footprint in the vicinity of Scotland\u2019s \u201cbusiest\u201d airport, which offers access to more than 155 domestic and international routes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new location will allow customers to walk from the main terminal to the hotel in less than ten minutes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Premier Inn claims to cater to 16 million passengers annually at Edinburgh Airport with its two nearby hotels.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Whitbread acquisition manager Jill Anderson said: \u201cEdinburgh Airport is in growth mode. Passenger numbers are increasing steadily, and the list of direct destinations is growing longer every year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the airport continues to succeed and grow, so are we by investing in additional bedrooms for our customers to enjoy \u2013 in this instance, so close to the terminal that they will be able to walk from the airport to the new hotel in less than ten minutes.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The hotel will feature Premier Inn\u2019s new design for bedrooms, featuring Premier Plus rooms along with the brand\u2019s \u2018The Social\u2019 area on the ground floor.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson added: \u201cWe will work closely with Riverstone to agree the final details and ensure progress is made quickly, so we can add more than 200 new, affordable hotel rooms at the key gateway into Scotland as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The latest Premier Inn is one of three new hotels that Whitbread is investing in across Edinburgh, planning to contribute more than 500 \u201cbudget-friendly\u201d rooms to the city.<\/p>\n<p>Premier Inn provides over 85,000 rooms across more than 850 locations throughout the UK and Ireland.\u00a0The chain has plans to increase this number to 125,000 rooms in its primary markets.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2025, Whitbread <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotelmanagement-network.com\/news\/whitbread-premier-inn-belfast-airport\/?utm_source=&amp;utm_medium=25-74777&amp;utm_campaign=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced plans to open<\/a> a new 81-room hotel at Belfast International Airport in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hotelmanagement-network.com\/wp-content\/themes\/goodlife-wp-B2B\/assets\/images\/newsletter-new.svg\" alt=\"Email newsletter icon\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\n                    Sign up for our daily news round-up!<br \/>\n                    Give your business an edge with our leading industry insights.\n                <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Computer-generated image of the Premier Inn hotel at Edinburgh Airport.
