Rooms will include seven studios, six one-beds and two two-beds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The basement of 43 George Street would also be used as a plant room and for back-of-house purposes.<\/p>\n<p>ISA Architecture and Design said in the application: \u201cThe proposed change of use to an aparthotel presents an opportunity to modernise the interior and reintroduce a residential function to the building. It is acknowledged that physical works will be required to facilitate this change of use and that listed building consent will be required for those works.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Work includes a \u201cmarginal increase in scale\u201d to roof lights, removing the existing external escape stairs to the rear of the property, and replacing door openings and windows.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The planning application added: \u201cThe aparthotel will contribute to the variety of tourist and visitor accommodation within the city centre.
