A former royal butler has likened the sweet relationship between Prince William<\/a> and Princess Kate<\/a> to that of another legendary royal couple.<\/p>\n Speaking candidly of the couple\u2019s bond at the launch of his new book, The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life of Royal Service, Grant Harrold revealed how the Prince and Princess of Wales<\/a> have emulated the relationship between the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip<\/a>.<\/p>\n The royal butler worked for the Royal Family<\/a> at Highgrove for seven years between 2004 and 2011, giving him firsthand experience of the Firm and the late monarch<\/a> \u2019s inspirational 73-year relationship with Prince Philip.<\/p>\n READ MORE: King Charles\u2019 major concerns before the birth of Prince George revealed<\/a>READ MORE: Royal photographer pinpoints exact moment William and Harry’s relationship changed<\/a> At his book launch on Monday, Grant spoke of the turbulent time in William and Kate\u2019s relationship when the couple briefly split up in 2007, before getting back together several months later.<\/p>\n When the royal couple eventually reunited, Harrold revealed how their relationship changed for the better as they seemed even more in love after the short separation.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cWhen you saw them together and see them get on as friends, although they were in love, they are also absolutely best friends,” he says, adding that the couple reminded him of another iconic royal pair: the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, who passed away in 2022 and 2021, respectively.<\/p>\n “They remind me of the Queen and Prince Philip. Their relationship was similar. They were best friends who worked together as a team.\u201d<\/p>\n Harrold added that William and Kate are \u201cvery much a modern royal couple, which you can see with all the changes they are going to make in the coming years.\u201d<\/p>\n Delving more into their short yet shocking split almost 20 years ago, Grant Harrold revealed how much their relationship blossomed when they got back together, as they came into their own as a formidable royal couple.<\/p>\n \u201cBefore, they weren\u2019t [really] holding hands – she was very much just William\u2019s friend. After that, when they got back together, it absolutely changed, and it was very much them as a couple.
