The organisers said they can’t wait to “welcome thousands of people” once again\"CrowdsCrowds enjoying Liverpool’s biggest open-air cinema at Calderstones Park<\/p>\n

Liverpool\u2019s biggest open-air cinema returns to the historic Calderstones Mansion after a summer of sell-out screenings. Nine hand-picked Halloween favourites <\/a>from children\u2019s storybook animations and family-friendly picks to a Hitchcock mystery thriller and cult classics will be screened.<\/p>\n

The autumn\u2019s film selection has been carefully selected to suit everyone from early years to families and adults and will be showing at three different times during the day: morning for toddlers, afternoon for family-friendly films and evening for grown-ups.<\/p>\n

The season starts with a half-hour animation of Julia Donaldson’s picture book, Room on the Broom, aimed at the youngest of cinema-lovers. From here Disney\u2019s Hocus Pocus and Hotel Transylvania will be shown.<\/p>\n

Also being featured is 1990s movie sequel, The Addams Family Values<\/a> starring Anjelica Huston and Christina Ricci. Ending the Halloween half term fun will be The Nightmare Before Christmas<\/a> – Tim Burton\u2019s 1993 masterpiece.<\/p>\n

The Reader\u2019s Jen Chapman, said: \u201cIt\u2019s been a joy this summer to welcome thousands of people to our beautiful garden for our first ever season of cinema.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve been absolutely blown away with how successful it\u2019s been, so we\u2019re creating more movie magic for the spooky season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis time we\u2019re installing a giant canopy in the garden to help audiences stay cosy, and we\u2019ll of course be bringing back our gorgeous homemade food, cocktails and hot drinks to enjoy in the autumnal atmosphere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guests can arrive early and soak up the atmosphere with music, food and drinks. Pre-orders will be taken for hot dogs, nachos and pizzas. Alternatively, you can treat yourself to a bottle of fizz or a bucket of Peroni beers.<\/p>\n

All profits will support The Reader\u2019s charitable work transforming lives through literature in Liverpool and beyond.<\/p>\n
