{"id":392815,"date":"2025-09-02T20:50:15","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T20:50:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/392815\/"},"modified":"2025-09-02T20:50:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T20:50:15","slug":"new-bee-network-night-bus-service-for-another-greater-manchester-town","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/392815\/","title":{"rendered":"New Bee Network night bus service for another Greater Manchester town"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new service is set to launch later this week<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0_ghost.jpg\" alt=\"Bee Network buses\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Bee Network buses<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A new 24-hour pilot bus service between Rochdale and Manchester will launch this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The 17 bus will run on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays connecting communities in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/rochdale\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Rochdale<\/a>, Castleton and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/middleton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Middleton<\/a> with <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/manchester-city-centre\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester city centre<\/a>. Currently, the last journey on the service 17 leaves Manchester at 11.42pm and Rochdale at 12.34am, before starting again at around 4am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The renewed service will run through the night in both directions between Shudehill along Rochdale Road and Manchester Road to Rochdale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">To see planning applications; traffic and road diversions and layout changes; and more, visit the Public Notices Portal <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/publicnoticeportal.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"HERELink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">As a result, revellers enjoying nights out in the city centre and Rochdale, show goers at Middleton Arena, or shift workers at locations such as Rochdale Infirmary will be able to get home safely.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The bus will run all night, with services at 34 minutes past the hour from Rochdale and 42 minutes past the hour from Manchester.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/0_Ddc495c8-3d92-41a5-B0c4-A237bec33b0b.jpg\" alt=\"Andy Burnham poses in front of a night bus\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Andy Burnham poses in front of a night bus(Image: Copyright Unknown)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Plans for the new route were announced by Greater Manchester mayor <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/andy-burnham\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Andy Burnham<\/a> in July as part of the launch of the Greater Manchester Strategy (GMS) \u2013 the city region\u2019s vision for the next decade to grow the local economy and ensure everyone can live well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The GMS pledges to continue to develop the Bee Network as a transport system for a global city region, so that by 2030, 90 per cent of the population live within 400m of a bus or tram that comes at least every 30 minutes. Transport bosses say night buses will play a key role in this.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Coun Neil Emmott, leader of Rochdale Borough Council, said: \u201cWe have long lobbied for better transport connections in this part of the borough, with long term aspirations to bring the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/metrolink\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Metrolink<\/a> to Middleton and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/heywood\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Heywood<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/1_250324bus9.jpg\" alt=\"Andy Burnham, Arooj Shah and Neil Emmott at the launch event of Oldham's Bee Network roll out on 25 March. \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Andy Burnham, Arooj Shah and Neil Emmott (right) at the launch event of Oldham&#8217;s Bee Network roll out on 25 March.
