Just months after the first chairman of the Duke of Sussex<\/a>\u2019s \u2018eco\u2019 firm Travalyst quit, having served only a year-and-a-half in the role, his chief executive has handed in her notice as well.<\/p>\n

Sally Davey has informed Prince Harry that she will step down in December. \u2018This is a huge blow to Travalyst,\u2019 a source tells me. \u2018Sally has been crucial in its development.\u2019<\/p>\n

Harry launched Travalyst in 2019 to make tourism more environmentally friendly. However, he and his wife, Meghan, soon faced accusations of hypocrisy because of their use of gas-guzzling private jets.<\/p>\n

That year, the couple reportedly made four journeys by private jet in the space of 11 days.<\/p>\n

King Charles<\/a>\u2019s younger son defended himself at the time, saying \u2018no one is perfect\u2019 and that what is important is \u2018balance\u2019.<\/p>\n

Davey, who has been chief executive for five years, says her dramatic move follows much soul-searching. \u2018This is not a decision I\u2019ve taken lightly,\u2019 she admits. \u2018After months of deep reflection, I\u2019ve reached a point in my journey where I know I need to give more time back to my family, and to myself.\u2019<\/p>\n

She adds of Harry: \u2018I will always be grateful for your support, including as my confidant and guide during this personal decision to step back. I\u2019m proud of what we\u2019ve built together. And while I\u2019ll be stepping down as CEO, I remain as committed as ever to Travalyst\u2019s mission.\u2019<\/p>\n

In January, I reported that Travalyst\u2019s first chairman, India Gary-Martin, had resigned. \u2018Frankly, it\u2019s no surprise,\u2019 reflected one observer of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex\u2019s business activities, which had seen at least 19 senior members of staff leave at that point.<\/p>\n

Last summer, I disclosed that Josh Kettler had suddenly quit his job as Harry\u2019s chief of staff after scarcely three months.<\/p>\n
