The Skelton Grange Environment Centre in Stourton is throwing its doors open on Saturday for its annual open day.<\/p>\n

With a host of activities there will be something for everyone including:<\/p>\n

Circus Leeds will be on site all day, sharing skills and equipment to get you moving, and the alpacas will be visiting from Catch <\/a>in Harehills.<\/p>\n

Gemma Foley is running a willow weaving workshop, and Sophie Brear will be monoprinting using natural materials from the site.<\/p>\n

And at 2pm, urban forester Catherine Nuttgens leads a tree walk and talk, answering all your tree questions and sharing her extensive knowledge.<\/p>\n

The caf\u00e9 will be open for snacks, drinks and cake, and the wood-fired dragon will be ready to go with pizza.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an exciting opportunity for the whole family to have fun together and explore the natural environment at Skelton Grange.<\/p>\n

The event is free but donations are much appreciated. Suggested donation is just \u00a31 for adults and kids run free. All the funds raised will be for the Friends of Skelton Grange who make sure that there are lots of community opportunities available at the Centre and who work closely with TCV.<\/p>\n

The site by the River Aire has been reclaimed for nature having been part of the Skelton Grange power station site until it closed in 1992. Since then TCV (formerly the Trust for Conservation Volunteers) has managed the site, restoring creating new habitats.<\/p>\n

Skelton Grange Environment Centre is located on Skelton Grange Road (over the bridge) LS10 1RS<\/p>\n
