Back then, her looks were widely talked about, but she mostly ended up playing supporting and negative roles on screen. She played Reema Lagoo\u2019s friend in Hum Saath Saath Hain and Salman Khan\u2019s stepmother in Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, becoming a popular choice for antagonistic characters on screen. But the journey to that stage wasn\u2019t easy. The actress has admitted that breaking into heroine territory wasn\u2019t easy, and she lost out on several projects because of the <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/casting-couch\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">casting couch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dropped from a film for refusing to compromise<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Siddharth Kannan in January 2025, Kunickaa opened up about one such incident that left her heartbroken. She revealed that she had been finalised for a big film but was removed from the project after she refused to make sexual compromises. \u201cI went to the office to collect my signing amount, but they told me I was being replaced because I wouldn\u2019t compromise,\u201d she said.The actress recalled how the female producer made the decision bluntly, even using disturbing language to justify it. According to Kunickaa, the producer told her, \u201cI am taking two hungry lions with me, so I will have to feed them a piece of flesh.\u201d The words shocked her deeply.
