{"id":394078,"date":"2025-09-03T08:19:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T08:19:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/394078\/"},"modified":"2025-09-03T08:19:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T08:19:11","slug":"28-years-later-the-bone-temple-trailer-ralph-fiennes-returns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/394078\/","title":{"rendered":"28 Years Later: The Bone Temple Trailer: Ralph Fiennes Returns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/sony\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sony\" data-tag=\"sony\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sony<\/a> Pictures has released the first trailer for Nia DaCosta\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/28-years-later-the-bone-temple\/\" id=\"auto-tag_28-years-later-the-bone-temple\" data-tag=\"28-years-later-the-bone-temple\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">28 Years Later: The Bone Temple<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe film will follow the events of \u201c28 Years Later,\u201d picking up after Spike (Alfie Williams) is introduced to Sir Jimmy Crystal (Jack O\u2019Connell) and his gang of acrobatic killers in a post-apocalyptic England. \u201cDr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship \u2014 with consequences that could change the world as they know it \u2014 and Spike\u2019s encounter with Jimmy Crystal becomes a nightmare he can\u2019t escape,\u201d the film\u2019s official synopsis reads. \u201cIn the world of\u00a0\u2018The Bone Temple,\u2019 the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival \u2014 the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tCillian Murphy will briefly appear in the film, reprising his role as Jim from \u201c28 Days Later,\u201d alongside stars Fiennes, Emma Laird, Maura Bird, Erin Kellyman and Chi Lewis-Parry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWhile Murphy will only have a small role in the second film, executive producer and \u201c28 Years Later\u201d director Danny Boyle <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/film\/features\/28-days-later-ending-sequels-gore-1236433992\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed to <\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/film\/features\/28-days-later-ending-sequels-gore-1236433992\/\">Variety<\/a> that Murphy will be an \u201cenormous character in the third film.\u201d Boyle also confirmed that O\u2019Connell and Fiennes will play larger parts in \u201c28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,\u201d setting up more of the mainland plot that was briefly touched on in the first film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201c28 Years Later: The Bone Temple\u201d was written and produced by Alex Garland. The sequel is executive produced by Boyle, Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice and Bernie Bellew. Columbia Pictures, DNA Films and Decibel Films produced the film, with Sony Pictures distributing the feature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201c28 Years Later: The Bone Temple\u201d is set to release in theaters on Jan. 16, 2026.
