After another busy summer up and down the country, the transfer window has, for now at least, closed once more. While Bristol City<\/a> may not have been quite as busy as some of their Championship rivals, they have made a fair few tweaks, both off and on the field.<\/p>\n

The stand-out change in south Bristol over the course of the summer has come in the Robins’ dugout. It already feels an age ago now that Gerhard Struber was named as Liam Manning’s successor<\/a> after the former Reds boss made the move to Carrow Road, but the Austrian’s tenure is still only a matter of months old.<\/p>\n

Alongside Struber, assistant head coaches Bernd Eibler and Craig Fleming<\/a> have both been appointed at the High Performance Centre. Eibler had worked alongside the City head coach at New York Red Bulls, RB Salzburg and K\u00f6ln previously, while Fleming, who enjoyed a successful career in England as a player, served as assistant to Ralph Hasenh\u00fcttl at both Southampton and Wolfsburg.<\/p>\n

Before changes were made to the coaching staff, the Robins moved to secure the futures of a couple of key players. All the way back in May, the Reds announced that both Cam Pring and George Tanner<\/a> had put pen to paper on new three-year deals in the West Country, which will run until the end of the 2027\/28 campaign.<\/p>\n

The announcements regarding extensions continued during the brief period the club were without a head coach as well, with Josh Campbell-Slowey penning a new three-year contract which will ensure the highly rated defender remains a City player until the summer of 2028.<\/p>\n

Almost immediately after Struber’s arrival was confirmed, two more new deals were handed out to returning loanees Rob Atkinson and Josh Stokes<\/a>. The latter put pen to paper on a contract until the end of the 2027\/28 season while the former is also set to spend the next three years in red and white. Later in the summer, new deals were also given to all of Joe Duncan, Leo Pecover, Lewis Thomas, Raphael Araoye, Olly Thomas and Taine Anderson.<\/p>\n

Naturally, as well as contract extensions, the summer window brought with it arrivals. In total, City made five additions to their ranks with Adam Randell, Joe Lumley and Emil Riis all making the permanent switch to BS3 from Plymouth Argyle, Southampton and Preston respectively, while Radek Vitek joined on loan from Manchester United<\/a> and Neto Borges will spend the season in the West Country from Middlesbrough.<\/p>\n

Outgoing business, on the other hand, was rather limited in south Bristol this summer. While all of Kal Naismith, Ayman Benarous and Nahki Wells left Ashton Gate upon the expiry of their respective contracts at the end of last season, the only two permanent departures sanctioned over the course of the entire summer saw Marcus McGuane join Huddersfield Town<\/a> and Seb Palmer-Houlden drop into League Two with Gillingham.<\/p>\n

In truth, deadline day couldn’t have been much quieter from a red and white perspective. No signings, permanent or otherwise, arrived through the High Performance Centre doors, with the only deals completed seeing Sam Bell head to Wycombe Wanderers on loan, whilst Adam Murphy and Jamie Knight-Lebel will link up with Ian Holloway at Swindon Town for the season.<\/p>\n

But with the transfer window now shut for the next four months at least, Bristol Live<\/a> has taken the chance to round up the current make-up of the Reds’ ranks, just how long is left on each player’s contract, and the options available to Struber at this moment in time…<\/p>\n
