Liverpool have dominated the transfer market this summer, with the club spending over \u00a3400million on improving their ranks. <\/strong><\/p>\n

And, although this seems like an awful lot of money, due to the number of players they sold, their net spend is just over \u00a3200million. <\/p>\n

Players such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz have been welcomed through the Anfield doors<\/a>, and when quality like that is brought in, you expect to pay a premium. <\/p>\n

Although it seemed like Arne Slot<\/a> managed to get all his targets this summer, there were some, such as Marc Guehi, who unfortunately fell through the cracks<\/a>. <\/p>\n

And, even though they\u2019ve already had a massive overhaul, that doesn\u2019t mean they weren\u2019t willing to do some additional business in the window. <\/p>\n

Angelo Stiller admits that Florian Wirtz\u2019s Liverpool move was \u201ccool\u201d<\/p>\n

One player who was often linked with an Anfield switch in the early days of the summer transfer window was Angelo Stiller<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The German midfielder was the subject of interest for many clubs across the globe, with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United<\/a> also interested in acquiring his services. <\/p>\n

However, for one reason or another, aside from the arrival of Wirtz<\/a>, Slot chose against bringing any other midfielders in this time around. <\/p>\n

And now, in quotes relayed by Fabrizio Romano via his personal X account, Stiller has given his thoughts on a potential move abroad in the future. <\/p>\n

Angelo Stiller could end up joining Liverpool next summer<\/p>\n

Although a move for the German holding midfielder didn\u2019t work out this summer, that doesn\u2019t mean it can\u2019t be explored next season. <\/p>\n

In the summer of 2026, Stiller will have a \u00a333.5million release clause<\/a> in his deal, which is a more than reasonable fee for someone such as Liverpool to spend. <\/p>\n

Indeed, the Reds do have Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch<\/a> to cover that role at the moment, but since Endo isn\u2019t getting any younger and Gravenberch can\u2019t play each game, a new defensive midfielder feels like a smart idea. <\/p>\n

It was clear that the 2025-26 summer transfer window was mainly for Liverpool<\/a> to improve their defence and attack. <\/p>\n

These were two areas that needed bolstering from last season, and, even though Slot\u2019s first-team squad are now a tad light in midfield due to the sales of players such as Harvey Elliott<\/a> and Tyler Morton, they have more than enough quality to see them out this term. <\/p>\n

Of course, nobody knows what\u2019s going to happen in the future, but with the way things have panned out thus far, it would be a surprise not to see Liverpool going after a new midfielder next term.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
