A Russian military plane with a top secret cargo crash landed minutes after take off today.<\/p>\n

The hulking Il-76 transport aircraft careered off the runway in remote Krasnoyarsk region.<\/p>\n

It came to rest up an incline some 200ft from the runway.<\/p>\n

The plane had requested an emergency landing minutes after taking off from Krasnoyarsk Airport in Siberia due to \u201cengine trouble\u201d.<\/p>\n

It was given permission to land at nearby Cheremshanka Airport, which is mainly used for domestic aircraft.<\/p>\n

The authorities have not disclosed what or who the plane was carrying but said there were no casualties.<\/p>\n

The Il-76 is widely used for military transport in the war against Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This plane was en route to Ulan-Ude in Buryatia region when it was hit by the emergency.<\/p>\n

Emergency services are currently at the scene.<\/p>\n

Krasnoyarsk Krai (region) is a federal subject of Russia<\/a> located in Siberia<\/a>. Its administrative centre is the city of Krasnoyarsk, the second-largest city in Siberia after Novosibirsk, with population of around 1.1 million.<\/p>\n

The Il-76 is a 1970s multi-purpose four-engine airlifter designed by Soviet Uniton’s<\/a> aircraft manufacturer Ilyushin.<\/p>\n

Russian military plane crashes aren’t uncommon. In June, the Soviet-designed SU-25 fighter jet reportedly crashed over Donetsk Oblast. Videos show the plane crashing into a field after being followed by another fighter jet.
