The unscheduled inspection was instructed by Scottish Ministers in February, and the findings were published yesterday (2nd\u00a0September).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Inspectors awarded Fettes excellent ratings in both \u2018Curriculum\u2019 and \u2018Raising attainment and achievement\u2019, alongside very good ratings in \u2018Learning, teaching and assessment\u2019 and \u2018Ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Inspectors rightly demand the highest standards, and their report highlights the distinctive strengths of a Fettes education, noting:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Staff have \u201csuccessfully created a curriculum that supports children and young people to flourish in their academic and personal interests.\u201d and \u201censure the curriculum is strongly underpinned by an aspirational vision with a clear focus on academic excellence, building character and supporting personal wellbeing.\u201d<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Staff \u201cfoster very nurturing and mutually respectful relationships\u201d and are \u201chighly responsive to the wellbeing needs of children and young people\u201d.<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Students are \u201chighly motivated to succeed\u201d, producing work \u201cof an exceptionally high standard\u201d and making \u201cexcellent progress\u201d in their learning.<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Extensive opportunities for students to achieve beyond the classroom, helping them to \u201cknow themselves well\u201d and aspire to reach their full potential.<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">A culture where students, staff and families \u201ccelebrate their own and others\u2019 cultural diversity\u201d and observe religious and cultural events together \u201cin an inclusive, respectful way\u201d.<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Staff \u2018recognise the need to ensure fairness and equality and to identify and mitigate against discrimination and bias in all aspects of the school\u2019s work\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\">This is testament to the exceptional work of the team at Fettes, which showed inspectors the values at the heart of the school community \u2014 academic ambition, character development, personal wellbeing, and a deeply inclusive culture where every individual is valued.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nen.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Fettes-College-Bryce-Building-in-summer-3.jpg?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"660\" height=\"440\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Fettes-College-Bryce-Building-in-summer-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-193714\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Head of Fettes College, Helen Harrison, said, \u201cI am immensely proud of everyone at Fettes College \u2013 Senior and Prep \u2013 and extend my thanks to them all for their commitment and contribution to this fantastic achievement.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWe had a team of inspectors in our school for two weeks and they looked at everything.
