Leaf on Bold Street has announced it will be closing after 15 years. The city centre venue, run by siblings Natalie and Graham Haywood, first opened in 2010. The brand later opened a second branch on Smithdown Road and a site in West Kirby<\/a> in 2020, shortly before the national lockdown measures came into force.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the ECHO reported how<\/a> the West Kirby<\/a> branch had closed. The company cited financial struggles<\/a> and a “fragile industry” that looks “bleaker than ever”. Natalie confirmed at the time that the company would focus on its remaining sites following the closure.<\/p>\n

Today, Wednesday, September 3, the company has confirmed its Bold Street site will close. Taking to Instagram to announce the news, the brand wrote: \u201cThe people. The community. The beautiful building we’ve proudly called home.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter fifteen incredible years, it’s time to draw this chapter to a close. LEAF on Bold Street has been more than just a venue it’s been a beating heart.<\/p>\n

“A place where laughter has echoed, tears have been shared, art has been made, and ideas have bloomed.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing part of the memories, the music, the feelings, and the unforgettable moments here has been a true honour.<\/p>\n

“This place has meant the world to us. Through every season and every storm, there was always a cup of tea – warming hands, comforting souls.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the dark days, the bright days, the ordinary days and the late nights\u2026Where there’s tea, there’s hope. To our dear friends, our regulars, our staff, our champions, thank you. This space wouldn’t have been the same without you.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe leave with full hearts, lasting friendships, and memories that will stay with us long after we close the doors.<\/p>\n

The LEAF group also oversees OH ME OH MY opposite the Three Graces, along with One Fine Day and Little Leaf on Old Hall Street.
