Leeds United<\/a> didn\u2019t make any new signings on deadline day, so discussion now is once again on whether the club might dip into the free agent market.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Daniel Farke didn\u2019t get his wish of one or two new attackers in the final stages of the summer window, so with the international break looming, has to consider his next steps with his existing squad.<\/p>\n

Online discourse unsurprisingly shifted to the possibility of any remaining free agent signings that the club would explore, having already brought two frees in already.<\/p>\n

Josh Brownhill offers himself to Leeds United on free transfer<\/p>\n

Burnley\u2019s star midfielder from last season, Josh Brownhill left Turf Moor upon promotion following 18 goals and six assist, running Joel Piroe very close for the golden boot.<\/p>\n

FourFourTwo\u2019s Joe Donnohue<\/a> revealed earlier in the summer that Brownhill made his intentions clear to avoid a return to the Championship with a free transfer.<\/p>\n

Not only was Brownhill adamant about the Championship, namely Leicester City and their enticing contract offer, but was also making himself available to Leeds too:<\/p>\n

\u201cBrownhill is understood to be considering his options and is open to a Premier League move. The 29-year-old is thought to be an admirer of Daniel Farke\u2019s setup at Elland Road, with Leeds in the market for a No.10 this summer, although it is not clear whether the Burnley man is a target for the Whites.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Leeds\u2019 failure to secure attacking reinforcements may have softened their stance on bringing in Brownhill, but they look set to miss out anyway.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because he is now set for a move to the Saudi Pro League with Al Shabab agreeing a deal for the 29-year-old:<\/p>\n

A deal is agreed subject to \u201capproval from the Financial Sustainability Committee affiliated with the Saudi Professional League\u201d.<\/p>\n

Josh Brownhill was clearly asking for too much money for Leeds United to bother<\/p>\n

You did have to wonder what the reason was for Brownhill to not get a transfer after such a brilliant season in the Championship.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s clearly good enough as a squad option in the top flight for a team like Leeds, or even a return to the top of the Championship, but the sticking point is obviously finances.<\/p>\n

Brownhill must have been commanding ludicrous money for no English clubs to be taking a punt on him for free, hence his move to the Middle East, where wages are obviously enormous.<\/p>\n
