{"id":395487,"date":"2025-09-03T20:57:13","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T20:57:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/395487\/"},"modified":"2025-09-03T20:57:13","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T20:57:13","slug":"west-yorkshire-police-praised-for-outstanding-recording","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/395487\/","title":{"rendered":"West Yorkshire Police praised for &#8216;outstanding&#8217; recording"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The PEEL spotlight report &#8211; \u2018How effectively do the police record crime?\u2019 \u2013 brings together findings from the 2016-2020 Crime Data Integrity\u00a0and 2021-22 and 2023-25 PEEL inspection programmes and cites the force as a case study for how other police forces can improve and sustain crime recording standards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The report states: &#8220;West Yorkshire Police\u2019s officers and staff understand the importance of correctly recording crime.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;The force has shown that improvements in crime recording can be sustained and embedded.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;Strong leadership, good governance and effective training for frontline officers and staff have led to outstanding crime-recording standards.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Superintendent Daniel Wood, of the force\u2019s Corporate Services department, said: \u201cWe are delighted to have been recognised by the Inspectorate in this way.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThe force has put a lot of time and effort into improving and maintaining these standards.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cAccurate crime recording is key to giving our victims the service they expect when reporting matters to us.
