King Charles<\/a> is not only a monarch, but he is also a loving family man. As well as being a father, the King, 76, is also a grandfather and enjoys the role very much.<\/p>\n

While he has five grandchildren in total, along with five step-grandchildren from Queen Camilla\u2019s side of the family<\/a>, the King is believed to be very close to Prince Louis. This was shown in 2022 at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, when the young prince – who turns seven on Wednesday – was restless.<\/p>\n

While his parents Prince William<\/a>, 42, and Princess Kate<\/a>, 43, tried to calm down his mischievous behaviour, it turns out the young royal only wanted one person – his grandfather.<\/p>\n

Speaking to MailOnline<\/a>, expert lipreader Juliet Sullivan revealed that William leaned across Camilla to ask Charles: “Grandpa, can Louis sit on your knee?” to which he replied “of course.”<\/p>\n

Louis then happily walked over to Charles, who was the Prince of Wales at the time, and sat on his lap with a big smile on his face.<\/a> Charles then rocked the young prince from side to side with his arms firmly around him.<\/p>\n

While the King does not reveal too much about his relationship with his grandchildren, Prince William<\/a> has previously spoken about how well his father gets on with his grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.<\/p>\n

Speaking in the documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, William said that the King is a “brilliant” grandfather but often very busy.<\/a><\/p>\n

William said: \u201cAnd he’s the fittest man I know, but equally I want him to be fit until he’s 95.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cSo, having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to you know, play with the grandchildren because when he’s there, he’s brilliant. But we need him there as much as possible.”<\/p>\n

It is likely the monarch will spoil Prince Louis on his seventh birthday this week and will make time to see his grandson for birthday celebrations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"King Charles is not only a monarch, but he is also a loving family man.
