Stretching after your workout helps reduce soreness, improve flexibility, prevent injuries, and boost recovery,\u201d the Heeramandi actor, a cancer survivor, said.<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201cTake 5 minutes to stretch \u2014 it\u2019s the final step to crushing your fitness goals!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"lazyloading\" decoding=\"async\" data-lazy-type=\"lazyloading-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/track_1x1.jpg\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/track_1x1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1px\" height=\"1px\" style=\"display:none;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>And experts couldn\u2019t agree more.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Prithviraj Deshmukh, orthopaedic surgeon, orthobiologics expert and interventional pain management specialist, Nexus Day Surgery Centre, agreed that exercising regularly is a great way to stay fit and healthy. \u201cPeople who exercise inconsistently create an environment conducive to major injury,\u201d said Dr Deshmukh.<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>According to him, when muscles are not adequately stretched and warmed up before exercise, \u201cthe risk for muscle strain or tear increases significantly.\u201d \u201cFurthermore, when core muscles are not <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/lifestyle\/fitness\/simple-stretching-exercises-new-year-2020-healthy-lifestyle-6194538\/\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">conditioned<\/a><\/strong> properly, the risk for joint injury or stress fracture also increases,\u201d added Dr Deshmukh.<\/p>\n<p>Debunking the myth that continuous exercise leads to quick results, Dr Deshmukh said that it can be detrimental. \u201cWhile regular exercise is beneficial for health and can prevent diseases, it\u2019s essential to do it safely and responsibly.
