The big twist is that the contestants have no idea who they&#8217;re marrying until they walk down the aisle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">During tonight\u2019s episode (September 3) things kicked off with a speed dating event where the singles, following five minutes of chat, are asked to select their favourites. The final couplings are then settled on by professional matchmakers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In the next stage of the show the pairs attend their faux wedding ceremony. The bride in a white dress and veil, walks down the aisle not knowing who is standing at the altar waiting to marry her.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Once castaway, couples then have to live together in a basic beach hut, with no electricity, a double bed and just a shower and loo.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/0_p0lz2cgrjpeg.jpg\" alt=\"The Stranded on Honeymoon Island cast \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>12 singletons embark on a speed dating ceremony unlike any other on BBC new reality show Stranded on Honeymoon Island (Image: BBC)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Viewers got to see the first three couples get matched and first up is marketing manager Hannah, 29, a \u2018party girl\u2019 and Sam, 30, who runs his own fashion brand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Next to be paired are lesbian couple Helen, 35, a radio presenter who describes herself as an \u2018Essex girl and raging lesbian\u2019 and Abby, 32, a sports coach and \u2018player on and off the field\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The third and final couple are Mae, 30, a recruitment consultant and Moray, 28, a property developer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Mae is a self-confessed diva who tells the audience of the fate that befell her last love. Looking misty eyed at the camera she reveals \u201cthere was an unfortunate accident where he fell\u2026 into his colleague\u2019s vagina\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">All three couples seemed to be happy with their chosen partners and wasted no time throwing themselves into the experiment.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/0_Screenshot-2022-05-26-at-104011.jpg\" alt=\"Married At First Sight logo\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>BBC viewers have compared the new BBC show to Married At First Sight (Image: Channel 4)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">As expected it didn\u2019t take long for fans to rush to social media to share their reaction as many spotted a problem with the format and compared the dating show to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/channel-4\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Channel 4<\/a>\u2019s hit dating show Married At First Sight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">One fan wrote on X, formally known as X: \u201cSo this is married at first sight, but they&#8217;ve just jumped straight to the honeymoon ?#StrandedOnHoneymoonIsland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Another admitted: \u201cThis looks like a cross between Married At First Sight and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/love-island\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Love Island<\/a>. #StrandedOnHoneymoonIsland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A third fumed: \u201cWhat is this?
