But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/news\/why-leeds-united-star-joe-rodon-hasnt-travelled-to-kazakhstan-ahead-of-harry-wilson-showdown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rodon has not travelled with the Wales squad to Kazakhstan<\/a> as he has to undergo concussion protocol after a knock against Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p>However, there is another injury concern for <a href=\"http:\/\/leedsunited.news\/club\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Leeds<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/leedsunited.news\/club\/manager\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel Farke<\/a> ahead of the September fixtures, and it involves left-back <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/tag\/gabriel-gudmundsson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gabriel Gudmundsson<\/a>. Gudmundsson came off early against Newcastle on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Sweden are in action against Slovenia on Friday and then Kosovo on Monday. A quick turnaround that will test the fitness of the Sweden players, with Gudmundsson set to play alongside Alexander Isak.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-2185019137-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Gabriel Gudmundsson dribbles the ball while playing for Sweden.\" class=\"wp-image-110666\" \/>Photo by Michael Campanella\/Getty ImagesJon Dahl Tomasson update on Leeds star Gabriel Gudmundsson<\/p>\n<p>With Rodon unable to play and both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/news\/ao-tanaka-and-ethan-ampadu-injury-timelines-given-as-leeds-united-suffer-hammer-blow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ampadu and Tanaka fighting to be fit for the return to Premier League action<\/a> on September 13, Farke will have much preferred for Gudmundsson to stay in Yorkshire.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Swedish newspaper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aftonbladet.se\/sportbladet\/fotboll\/a\/LMwKv9\/alexander-isak-tranade-for-fullt-med-sverige-sa-glad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Aftonbladet<\/a>, Tomasson was asked about Gudmundsson and his fitness ahead of the two World Cup qualifiers. He said: \u201cHe says he\u2019s flying, I hope he is. He\u2019s okay, he assures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Certainly, it seems Gudmundsson has shaken off the knock he picked up against Newcastle and he can continue his excellent start to the season. For the first time in years at <a href=\"http:\/\/leedsunited.news\/club\/stadium\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elland Road<\/a>, Leeds have real competition at full-back where beforehand, it was simply two starting options and then back-up.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, Sam Byram and Isaac Schmidt were never going to overtake Jayden Bogle and Junior Firpo. Now, James Justin has arrived and provides competition.
