Netflix<\/a> has dropped the trailer for another bombshell royal documentary. However, instead of the stars being Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/a>, this time the focus is on Norway’s Princess Martha Louise<\/a> and her husband, Durek Verrett<\/a>. Their union was the subject of much controversy when it was first announced as Durek is an American conspiracy theorist, convicted felon and a self-professed shaman.<\/p>\n

The streaming giant<\/a> stated that the documentary Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story is “a never-before-seen look at one of the most-discussed couples and explores their love story from the early days to the present day and how they navigate their new life surrounded by constant attention from the public.”<\/p>\n

Both the Princess and Durek will appear in the documentary and give interviews to the camera throughout.<\/p>\n

M\u00e4rtha Louise, who is fourth in line to the Norwegian throne, and Durek first announced their relationship in 2019<\/a>, two years after the princess divorced Ari Behn, her late first husband and the father of her three children.<\/p>\n

An insider previously told Danish outlet Billed Bladet<\/a>: “The project is still untitled and will premiere in 2025.” It comes as M\u00e4rtha Louise entered into an agreement with her father, King Harald<\/a>, that she may not use her title as a princess in connection with her commercial activities.<\/p>\n

In 2022, M\u00e4rtha Louise said in a statement that she would step down from official royal duties to focus on her and Verret’s activities and “distinguish more clearly between their activities and the royal house of Norway.”<\/p>\n

Director Rebecca Chaiklin, known for Tiger King, and Emmy-winning producer Chris Smith, are understood to have followed Durek and M\u00e4rtha Louise\u2019s life for over a year for the documentary.<\/p>\n

“I never thought of myself as racist before I got together with Durek, and suddenly to expand that vision and acknowledge that I actually have white privilege \u2014 it was such an eye-opener for me,” M\u00e4rtha Louise told Business Insider<\/a> in 2021.<\/p>\n

She added: “I also see through his eyes that racism isn’t just the obvious headlines, it’s the subtle energies.
