{"id":39703,"date":"2025-04-22T00:43:17","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T00:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/39703\/"},"modified":"2025-04-22T00:43:17","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T00:43:17","slug":"leeds-united-hand-everton-fresh-transfer-blow-after-securing-promotion-to-the-premier-league","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/39703\/","title":{"rendered":"Leeds United hand Everton fresh transfer blow after securing promotion to the Premier League"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Everton are now mathematically safe from relegation and the club will already have one eye on next season. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">David Moyes<\/a> can now prepare for what\u2019s expected to be a transformative summer and the recruitment team are thought to be drawing up a list of targets. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/liam-delap-transfer-preference-as-ipswich-town-star-wants-two-things-amid-everton-interest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everton are keeping close tabs on Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap<\/a>, whilst the likes of Chris Rigg and Maxime Esteve are being eyed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/david-moyes-personally-watched-30m-phenomenon-on-the-weekend-after-everton-scout-chris-rigg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moyes has personally scouted Esteve<\/a> in recent weeks as he could be in the market for a Jarrad Branthwaite replacement, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everton<\/a> defender heavily linked with a move to Manchester United. <\/p>\n<p>But now, the Everton manager has been dealt a fresh transfer blow by Leeds United, who may have scuppered his plans. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"668\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GettyImages-2211285238-1024x668.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Michael Regan\/Getty Images\" \/>Photo by Michael Regan\/Getty ImagesEverton now unlikely to sign Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/everton-have-had-sizeable-bid-for-special-player-rejected-after-initially-making-positive-steps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everton have a long-standing interest in Leeds\u2019 Wilfried Gnonto<\/a> and had a bid rejected for the talented wide player last summer. <\/p>\n<p>The Toffees have been huge admirers of Gnonto since he first emerged on the scene in England two years ago. <\/p>\n<p>Indeed, it was thought that the club could reignite their interest in the Italy international this summer, however, that potential deal now looks to be in ruins following Leeds United\u2019s promotion. <\/p>\n<p>The Whites secured promotion on Easter Monday after thumping Stoke City 6-0 at Elland Road, with Gnonto on the scoresheet, funnily enough. <\/p>\n<p>So, considering Leeds\u2019 Premier League status and newfound wealth, it\u2019s highly unlikely they\u2019d even discuss the possibility of sanctioning his sale this summer. <\/p>\n<p>Everton could turn to West Brom\u2019s Tom Fellows instead<\/p>\n<p>With Gnonto off the cards, Everton could turn their attention to West Bromwich Albion winger Tom Fellows. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/david-moyes-really-wants-everton-to-sign-20m-winger-this-summer-hes-also-keen-on-joining\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moyes tried to sign Fellows<\/a> in January and it was even reported at the time that personal terms were agreed.<\/p>\n<p>However, ultimately the transfer failed to materialise on deadline day, so it wouldn\u2019t at all be surprising if it was revisited when the window opens in June. <\/p>\n<p>Fellows is the assist king in the Championship with no player laying on more goals than his 13. <\/p>\n<tr>RankNameAssistsGoalsPlayedChances CreatedPass Accuracy<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>1.<\/td>\n<td>J.
